Connecting to public libraries

I've been googling and searching for a couple of hours now. Lots of what im finding are posts that are several years old with way outdated answers. Can someone give me simple step by step instructions on (1) how to set up the tablet to connect to the libraries and then (2) how to find a list of participating libraries in my area - - - - - or can you simply connect to any library nationwide? I've figured it pretty much everything else on this amazing device, but this last connection issue is giving me absolute fits!! Thanks in advance. ~Vol

Re: Connecting to public libraries

Frogalum's post is pretty direct and step by step

Re: Connecting to public libraries

Your local library may have handout instruction sheets as does our county library system  Also the local B&N store holds periodic instructional sessions which cover this topic, and they will email you a .docx file explaining the process if requested.

Re: Connecting to public libraries

Thanks for pointing me to that FAQ.  No idea how I hadn't come across that in my own searching.  Of course, now I'm lost again.  ADE is installed.  My PC is authorized, and it recognized the NOOK when I plugged it into the USB.

Now is there a tutorial on what to do next?  Can I find and borrow library books directly from the Nook itself, or do you always have to download via PC & then transfer through the USB cable?  That seems a little cumbersome, so I'm hoping it's possible to do everything completely with the NOOK now that the required software should be there.

Thanks for the help!

You always have to side load library books
