I keep getting an error message that says......." The application Email (process com.bn.nook.email) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. " I am then given an option to Force Close the app. Anyone else having this problem...or better yet....found a solution? Thanks. Happy New Year to all of you.

I really hope this bug is fixed within a day or two. I won't use the tablet without the email feature. Seriously, B&N? You roll out an update that breaks people's email connections?
How very frustrating. As you see from my thread, I am having the same issue. My email was working fine for a whole week, and then broke immediately upon downloading the update. Frustrating because there is also no way to stop the update, that I know of.

It's funny they say the update had noting to do with it when yesterday they were telling the folks in my local store that it definitely was an issue with the update.

I've had a problem with my e-mail also. When I delete an e-mail message via the e-mail app, it goes away briefly and then comes right back. I contacted customer support and they said there are known problems with the e-mail app and Google is working to fix them - apparently Google is the provider of the e-mail app. The suggestion was to get my e-mail directly from the provider url if the e-mail app was giving me problems. They didn't have a resolution date for the "problems."
Has anyone else heard about the pending fix?

I am having the same problem with my email. Please see my request under Nook Issue Reporting Tab. Hopefully if enough of us bring it to their attention something will be done. This is so frustrating!

Until resolved:
I would browse out to your email provider using the browser until Google or whomever is responsible for this problem fixes it.

It's a feature and it should work. Using the browser to check email is not convenient at all. My local BN told me to do the same thing.

Trying to use your gmail account on the NT is a nightmare. You can't forward or use most of your labels....I noticed they let you use a few labels but not all, which annoys me to no end.To save myself some grief,I just access my gmail through the browser.

Hi all,
We are currently aware of email issues present on NOOK Tablet, and are working to resolve them for you.
We apologize for the inconvenience, in the meantime your browsers can be used as a work around until resolved.

Do you mean the e-mail items continue to show up on your Nook after you have deleted them from the Nook? If this is what you mean; then, you should know that in POP access if the mail item is not deleted from the server it will be re-delivered at the next download to your device. You can set an option in the mail accounts settings to delete mail items from the server when downloaded. This will prevent them from showing again on the Nook but also means that they will not be available to read from any other device you might use to access the mail server.
Hope this is of help.

This is not the solution we are looking for. You should not have to delete the email from the server to prevent it from reappearing once deleted from the NOOK. All other E-mail apps only load E-mail that has not already been downloaded. My computers work that way and my phone works that way so the NOOK E-mail application should also work that way. It is very frustrating that every time I read an E-mail and go back to the inbox 25 emails download most of which I have already read and some that I have deleted.

Alex, that is very welcome news and thank you for the update on what is happening in that regard. How will the fix for the broken E-mail app be distributed? Will it be an OTA or do we go to the "APPS" screen and click "Check for Updates"? I assume there will be no need for an operating system update.

Hi, I am having the same email error "The application Email (process com.bn.nook.email) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." I force close, try again and get the same message.
I called the customer services team who couldn't fix it. After 10 minutes on the phone they confirmed it's an issue which a lot of people are experiencing. I asked when it might be fixed, the agent didn't know. I asked how I would be notified and the method of fix, the agent didn't know. She suggested I call back at a later date to ask if it had been fixed.
I'm disappointed with the email app crashing. But I'm more disappointed with the service level of BN. Not just the poor customer experience on the phone call (asking me to call back at a later date) but also to learn on this thread that it's been an issue for weeks and still not fixed.
A small part of me wishes I'd bought a more expensive (= more reliable) tablet.
Does anyone know when this email app will be fixed?
Thanks

My email just started giving me this error a few days ago. I guess Ill have to go to the email in my broswer - which is incredibly inconvienant. One of the reasons I was considering a kindle over a nook was customer services issues w/ my last nook. Looks like CS strikes again.

My last contact with Alex was a few days ago, and he is aware of the issue, but still no announcement of a fix.

LDW1, they were correct in what they have told you. You MUST arranged your settings to remove e-mail from the server when you delete it from the device. This is a security feature that prevents you from deleting mail accidentally from your web-mail (while this may not be a problem for you, it may have been an issue with other Nook users). I understand that the app differs from other devices with which you are familiar, but that is something that you could offer as a suggestion to the developers of the Nook E-mail App. The App is still in its Beta Form and is being developed further.
