Hi,
Just got my wife an NT and so need to transcode our movie and TV collection for the 32GB microSD card that will arrive soon. ![]()
I found a Handbrake "settings file" for the Nook Color, but for a seemingly older and incompatible version of Handbrake.
Would the "Android High" Preset be adequate for the Tablet?
Thanks,
Ron

That profile should work.
Unlike the NOOK color, which has a video resolution limit of 854x480 The NOOKtablet is more capable of playing video files.
The main things are that the video needs to be either h264 or mpeg4-sp (ffmpeg in Handbrake) and audio AAC Stereo. The video bitrate can be quite high, so you will not run into issues there.
Do keep in mind that there is a file-size limit of 2GB max per video file. The NOOK tablet (and the NOOK color as well) doesn't like larger files.
Since you mentioned a 32GB memorycard, I do have to point out that there are a lot of fake and corrupted memorycards being sold these days. Relabeled 1-2GB cards, which appear to be fine, but once you exceed the real capacity of the card, the rest you add will not work. If you run into playback issues with videos on your memorycard, try and see if copying the same file to internal memory of your NT will work better.

there is a file-size limit of 2GB max per video file.
Righ, because of the antiquated (file system named FAT, originating 4 years before even the IBM PC) way that files are stored on flash cards.
Thanks too for the info on the NT's video capabilities and the requirement for AAC.
