How can we request a feature or change?

[ Edited ]
A huge part of the reason I got my Nook Tablet was for reading in low light and bed, but the included reader doesn't have the nice black background the Nook app on my phone and Galaxy Tab do. It's background is gray, and it not as easy on the eyes as the black is. Why did they do this? I tried to sideload the Nook app apk and while it installs, it won't open. This is a big issue for me and I'd like to send feedback to let them know. I've seen other posts on here about this but can't seem to find them now, so I know I am not the only one this bothers. Thanks! Edited for typos, crazy ipad skips letters!

Re: How can we request a feature or change?

Hi northlite,

I'm sorry you're not able to find this feature on NT. However, the Gray theme is an option you can choose from within your Text options.

To reach it just tap the screen while reading, choose Text and choose Gray from the list of Themes.

Hope this helps!

You misunderstood. Yes, I know how to get the gray theme. The gray theme sucks. It's too light of a background and hard on the eyes for reading in the dark. I want the Nook Tablet to use a BLACK background for the night theme the same as the Nook apps for android and iphone do, or at least give a choice of black or gray. Why does the Nook Tablet reader use gray instead of black? It's awful!

Hey northlite,

I'm sorry I misunderstood, I'm not exactly sure why the two tones are different for Night - but I'll forward to our devs. Hopefully, this is something we can adjust pretty quickly.

Re: How can we request a feature or change?

I echo the request for a black background with white text in the night mode.  It is one of the only reasons I have not purchased a Nook Tablet and switched to a Kindle Fire.  I really need this feature on a Nook Tablet and did not like the grey background with white text on the Nook Color.

Just curious, but did you try reading with the dark grey background?  Personally, I find the white on black much harder on my eyes, because of the high contrast.  I can read for hours without any eye strain with the dark grey background though.  Obviously, this is all a personal preference.
