I just purchased the Nook Tablet 16GB on 3/31, the next day I purchased a 16 GB MicroSD and put it in the device... it has been formatted as FAT32 and does not show up, I've also tried a 2 GB MicroSD card.. Nada. It is found easily on the computer with a MicroSD card reader, but will not read it on the device itself.
It's not backwards or anything like that and it clearly makes a connection with the pins. Any ideas or should I just take it back?

I'd at least take it back to the store and see if they have any luck with it. But all I had to do with mine was plug it in and it found it...

I would at least re-insert it to make sure. I did that once, could have sworn I had it in properly and I didn't. Check page 152 of the User's Guide (which is on your Nook) for directions and specs on the card.

I would for sure take it out and reinsert it. I consider myself pretty capable technology wise but when I installed a new 32 Gb micro SD in my Nook Tablet 16 it did not seat completely so was having the "can't see it" issue. I was positive the card was correctly inserted so did not check it immediately. After a few frustrating minutes I opened the SD Card cover and can you believe; the card was not completely inserted!

After reading this thread I decided to go buy an sd card and see if mine worked. I have Nook tablet 16gb. Happened to be in Staples yesterday , asked one of the guys to direct me to what I wanted and they had a sundisk mobile microsdhc 16gb class 4 card on sale for $19.99. I have never used a microsd card before except an sd card for my camera ( card much bigger ) so I looked in Nook user guide page 100 and followed the directions. It worked first try.

ScottB78,
Remove the micro SD card. Then perform a soft reset of the device (REMOVE THE micro SD card before doing this):
1) Hold down the power button and ignore any prompt to power off. The screen should turn black after about 10-15 seconds.
2) Release the power button and turn the device back on.
3) Re-insert the micro SD card.
If this does not resolve the issue, you may have issues that are affecting your nook and not just the micro card slot. Bring your nook into the nearest Barnes and Noble and a nook specialist will help you to determine your next course of action. I hope this helps.
