My nephew was playing with my NOOK Tablet. He wanted to install some app he couldn't find in the B&N store. I guess later OS versions 1.4.2 and up won't let you do this? He tried to install v1.4.0 on my NOOK. It seemed to work but now when the home screen comes up there is an endless loop error message! The error is "Sorry! The process android.proccess.media has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force close." and the same one sometimes comes up for Device Manager. When you press Force close the error just comes back immediately. I don't know what to do...I know he didn't mean to break it. I just want my NOOK back to normal! I tried complete power down and restarting several times, no luck. ![]()

Try to do a manual update to 1.4.3.

If you are seeing this message: The error is "Sorry! The process android.proccess.media has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force close." and the same one sometimes comes up for Device Manager.
It probably means that there are a bunch of apps that run in the background starting up and taking up too much memory.
You should ask your nephew which apps he installed and uninstall or archive ALL of them.
The culprit is probably some app that loads data from the Internet like a news reader or a chat app or some notifications or sms app. It's probably using too much memory or making a mistake. And then it's supposed to not try again. But if it's a random app then it might not be programmed well and it might be continuing to try again and again and causing problems again and again.
It would also help if you could get your nephew to tell you what things he installed and listed them here. Then we could narrow down the problems.
Word Search, Kriss Kross, Quote Falls, Hangman - Word Game Pack.
Alarm Clock, Weather, Calendar, ToDo - Alarm Clock & Calendar.
3 Hidden Objects Adventures - 3 Hidden Objects Adventures.

If you call tech support, do NOT mention what your nephew did. Apparently, they will blacklist devices if you let them know you were attempting to root, which is what it sounds like he was doing.
How badly do you need to keep what's on there? If you could do a factory reset, would that be sufficient? Anything you bought through B&N should still be there, but if you've sideloaded a lot of material, it might need to be reloaded.
If you completely power off (long-press the power button for 20-30 seconds), then press the power button then hold the 'n' key as you power it back on, you should get a screen to do a factory reset. This will wipe the user data on your device. That may not be enough, depending what he broke.
To reload the factory firmware, you can try the "8 failed reboots" process. Basically, let the device start booting up, then hold the power button until it turns off. Repeat this 8 times and it should reload it to the factory firmware.
If your uncomfortable doing these steps, your nephew should be able to pull them off.
