Nook Tablet - small crack in screen - any hope????

Well My nook table was given to me Christmas 2011, and now for the first time ever I've own anything I have a crack screen in the left hand corner causing my top screen to loose it's pixel it's mostly white at the top now.

I feel like there is no help because I've searched in the Warrenty and it states it doesn't cover this at all.  IS there anything Tech Support can help me with?  Is it possible that I can get this fixed?

My Mom got it through QVC, and I HIGHLY doubt she's kept the receipt because I know after I open it and knew my Tablet worked fine she threw it out.  So why do I feel like I'm SOL?  AM I???

I went looking through the net and found a place that'll fix it for about $100.00  and I read some where there is a kit floating around on ebay about fixing it yourself....

Is there anything else that can be done, or do I have to go to the place I found online or do it myself?

Sadly I don't think when my Mom ordered my Tablet on QVC she got the extended warrenty (damn it I should have gotten it when I had the chance!!).

Any hope???  Any thing????

Sadly, I think your options are down to fixing it (which will cost parts + labor) or replacing it with something else. If you can get a NOOK Tablet fixed for under $150, it's probably worth it.

That completely sucks!

Good thing, not all hope is lost. I did find a place for about a 100.00. But that's going to be a while... Ah well... I knew I should have bought that extended warrently.

You might want to consider a rigid case to give that screen a bit more protection.

Unfortunately, since you did not purchase the extended warrantly, there is nothing BN can do on their end. The extended warranty extends your coverage for two years and includes accidental damage.

Please let us know how you do with the kit.

Don't beat yourself up over not purchasing an extended warranty-you couldn't have bought one. B&N only allows you to purchase an extended warranty at the time you purchase a NC or NT-they don't allow you to purchase one later (unlike most other companies that give you 2-4 weeks after buying electronics to purchase an extended warranty and Apple which gives you up to a year to buy one) . I don't know if I would spend $100 to fix an item that cost $200!

Actually, when you purchase a nook you have 2 weeks to add on an extended warranty. If you received a gift receipt you have 60 days to add it on. You can go into any store or call cs. Need serial # or registered email address of device. It doesn't matter where you bought it.

Re: Nook Tablet - small crack in screen - any hope????

Customer service told me the extended warranty had to be purchased at the same time as the Nook. Another reason to shop anywhere but from B&N!
