Nook tablet won't power on

Hello!

I was using my nook tablet normally last night (playing scrabble, actually), I left long enough for it to go into "sleep" mode, and when I came back to finish my game the blasted thing wouldn't start up! I've tried everything and all combinations and times of holding the various buttons to no effect. It does not start up when plugged in- either to the wall or the computer. My computer does not recognize the device. There is no SD card. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hold power button down firmly for 20 seconds.  Release for 2 or 3 seconds.  Hold power button down for another 2 seconds.,

Try that and see if it will reset itself.

Might I suggest you hold down the power button AND the home (n) button at the same time for 20 seconds.? You should see your NC reboot then.

I tried this several times before it worked.  I had not used my nook tablet in a while and I thought I had completely drained the battery even though I turned it off.  After charging for more than a day, it still would not turn on.  It's on now, but it took several tries!  Never had this problem before.

Didn't work for me. Called tech support they suggest the same thing didn't work. I tried it about 3 times. I think it might be some type of hardware problem. All I did was dare to watch a video on the browser.
