Update 1.4.3

So my nook got automaticly updated and it erased everything on my sd card and everything on my nook that I side downloaded did this happen to anyone else and why did it happen?

Mine looked like it was erased (I don't have a SD card in right now), but it all showed up when I hard booted it again.

I upgraded my Tablet to 1.4.3 over the weekend, and now searching the store for apps, books, etc. would yield the error message: "Sorry, a problem has occurred. Please try again. If you continue to receive the error, visit nook.com/tablet/support for help."  Internet access works fine, as I can browse the Internet with the browser without any problem.

Any pointer on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.

I de-registered & re-registered the Tablet, and that solved my "Search error" problem.

My Nook Tablet updated this morning. Everything was right where I left it including my SD card files. The pinch zoom on magazines works again without cutting off the top 1/2 inch of the page.

Mine updated yesterday.  I haven't noticed any adverse effects from the update.  Everything is where it's supposed to be.

I got my update on July 1st, and have not experienced any adverse changes or limitations. The sd card was on the Nook when the upgrade came through without loosing any of the content on it. My Tablet is working fine. Thanks, B&N

How do you hard boot it?

By pressing & holding the power button until a "powering off?" prompt menu comes up, or for 15-30 sec until the Nook shuts down.

That's a fixed footer that she has apparently configured to appear at the bottom of every one of her messages.

No, but seems a little over the top when one seldom helps but asks for laurels anyway.

It's no big deal. A lot of people don't realize the laurels exist. Her footer just says to laurel if you like a post. There's guidance from B&N to do that, and others have similar footers. It's a simple way to give feedback. I don't find hers any more objectionable than some of the others we see here. There are bigger things to complain about.
