Web browser still crashing and freezing

Hello,

I have the latest update, 1.4.3, and the web browser is still randomly crashing by going back to the home screen, and freezes when a web page would partially load and won't go anywhere. I would have to turn it off and on again to get it to work. Just wondering if anyone else is still having this problem even with the most recent update?

Unfortunately, I can't answer your question directly since by the time 1.4.3 came out, I had changed to the Dolphin browser.  But the same problem exists on that browser as it did before 1.4.3.  And I did have the same problem on the native Nook browser before 1.4.2.  I suspect there is a memory problem that is independent of the browser.

The stock browser has had this problem from the beginning --- no rhyme or reason to why it locks up. You can use it for a week without problems, then it will start locking up for every single website.

The Dolphin browser app is free.  And works much better than stock.   Allows you to arrange your bookmarks has multi-tab browsing.  If you do decide to use it, be sure to go into Settings and check out what your options are.

I just downloaded the dolphin browser, and I'm back to browsing with ease

Dolphin certainly is a big upgrade functionally from the builtin browser, but don't epect it to be crash-free. It has never frozen on me, but every three or four weeks it will unexpectedly close all its tabs. Not as frequently as the builtin, but still annoyoing.  I suspect a memory issue with the OS.
