books will not transfer over to SD card

my nook tablet wont accept any books I transfer over through calibre or drag and drop in file manager on to the SD card.  in order to get new books sideloaded I have to format the card and then I have one shot to put all of the books back on.  Same happens with any music files I want to put on the card (Pandora is good, but I have stuff Pandora does not)

I can load books/music/movies all day long in to the onboard memory.  It also happens regardless of OS I am using (I have dual boot xp/Ubuntu) and version of Calibre

this is driving me nuts.  I never had the problem with my original Nook, only with the Tablet

I'm curious if this is a new SD card or was it one that you used on your original Nook.  Also have you tried to access the card directly from your computer? It might be a problem with the card and not the Nook or your system. My family has 4 Nooks, all different and the only problem I've had is that I had to restart the Nook once I've put in the card.

it was a new card, and worked fine for while...think maybe its a card problem?

Yes, it's probably a card problem.

I have a Nook Color and a Nook Tablet and both work fine.

You could try the card on some other device and see if it reads the file contents or not.

To the OP, have you tried reformatting the card (using the NT, not your PC) and reloading the content?

yes I have, and if I format using any I get only one shot, after that, the card seems to have locked itself

Does your SD Card have a lock/unlock tab. Some SD Cards have this little thing on the side. When you put it into lock position it won't let you overwrite existing stuff. Perhaps that's what's preventing you from transferring books.

no, I dont think I've ever seen a micro SD card with a lock on it.  If I format I get one shot to transfer all I want, after that, it wont accept anything

it was the card...I switched to an 8gig sandisk card and all is well, I can even play music from the card (something I could never do before), and it transferred over quicker than ever

looks like the 32gig card I got form ebay will be in my wifes camera now
