new nook tablet wont turn back on

we charged itovernight , turned it on, was in the middle of logging into bn.com, and it went black. It wont come back on!  I have tried holding the on/off switch down for 20 seconds, and nothing happens.

any suggestions??

For those who have the same issue. hold power on and nook symbol at the same time. immediately came back on.

I've had my nook for 3 days, and it's doing the same thing. I know it has a charge, tried reading a book, this morning and it won't come on, even if I press power and nook button. Seems this is a common issue?

Had this issue, called customer service, and here is how I fixed it:

Hold the power button for thirty seconds to power it off.

Count to thirty while it is off.

Hold the power button for thirty seconds to power back on.

If it does not respond the first time, rinse and repeat.

It worked on my second try and hasn't done it since.

I panicked too when it happened ... thought I broke something.

I seriously just had this problem this morning, I was sooooo angry! I used the 30 second hold to shut off, waited 30 seconds, and then just pressed the power button, turned right back on!! I just about started crying!! haha!

I've had this same problem twice today, while playing the game.  Does anyone know why this happens?

I turned off my animated wallpaper and haven't had a problem with this since.

This happened to me last night, my Tablet went to sleep and wouldn't wake up. Thankfully holding the power button in for 30 seconds, waiting for 30 and then holding it for 30 again worked. Not sure why, but it did. Whew!

Wow, thank you guys soooooo much.  I was in a state of PANIC!  And when I panic, I play angry birds, which I couldn't do, lololol!
