Javabird, if it was previously due to a server outage then it's probably due to a server outage right now.

 

I'd recommend just trying again in a few hours, as by then the server outage will be fixed.

 

You could also go to the website and see if you can download Nook for PC and download to that and read on PC.

 

However, if there's a server outage then customer support can't do anything until the server issue is fixed. And that might be an hour or a few hours.

I was bordering on meltdown an hour ago.... glad to know Im not the only one having this issue. Has anyone gotten through to support? I've been on hold forever, might have to resort to turning on the TV! yikes!

The same problem for me with a simple touch; no new books, no PC downloads.  I hate buying ebooks from Amazon, but things like this...

 

Tried to do a chat session on this, but they were too busy and ended it.

Well, I tried opening books in my Nook app for Mac and tha's not working either. I'm home sick today and wanted to start reading a new Nook book I just purchased, but oh, well, I guess I'll be using my iBooks app instead today.

As far as I'm concerned, they owe all of us a rebate on the cost of the book they're not delivering. I don't place my order and give a credit card to not get a book. Here they are, taking the money and not providing the product.

 

I have an error of some kind 1 out of 10 times I place an order. Suppose the Dr. had that error rate when he diagnosed your problem?

whoo hoo!! problem must be fixed, i was finally able to download the book i was having issues with for the last 3 hours!

Still get the same error from the My Nook site trying to download.

 

I bought the sequel to that book from Amazon just now.

Support told me to power off NT and turn it back on. Then download the book. DO NOT delete the book and try to re-download. You will be charged twice for the book. (That's what I did, but I did get a refund...luckily) 

 

Actually, BN didn't hestitate to refund me for one purchase of the eBook.

 

Apparently, after you delete a BN purchased eBook from your device, you won't be able to re-download the book unless you re-purchase that eBook again.

 

So, if you purchase a BN eBook for your device, don't delete it. Just archive it.....Unless you want to buy the same eBook again...and...again...and...again....

Yeah,

 

Archive = Move to Cloud and Keep for LAter.

 

Delete = Delete from Account and Lose Forever.

Did a soft reset (turned off and on) and the problem was resolved. I'd already tried the archive - unarchive trick but that didn't work (often does).
