BLACK Screen

Help - took my Nook Color off the charger after charging it all day.  Read for a few minutes and then had to put it down.  Picked it back up and the screen is black.  Pushing the on/off switch does nothing, plugging it back in does nothing, i now have it plugged in, the indicator is orange.  still a black screen.... somebody please HELP!

I had a similar thing occur a couple months back. I took it off the charger and turned on my wifi to check a web page for just a couple of minutes. I pushed the power button then travelled to Dallas (about 5 hrs all told with Nook asleep. When I tried to turn it back on I got a black screen. Plugged it into the charger and after a few minutes there was a message on the screen something like "battery too low to turn on". After a couple hours on the charge it worked like a charm. Only thing I can figure is I left the wifi on.

If it's not a low battery issue, your device may be frozen.  Hold both the side power button and the "n" sysmbol on the front at the same time for a few seconds until the device responds.  I think it forces a shut down and then you can press the power buttons as usual to turn it back on.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!  You guys are terrific  Held both the N button and the on/off button for a few seconds then powered it right back on.  And I was right in the middle of a really terrific read, too.  Thank you so very much.
