Anecdotal evidence that they're moving: My wife ordered one online two weeks ago. Estimated ship date said May 30, but it actually shipped on the 24th and should be here Tuesday. (Tracked to within 100 miles of us Friday, but the holiday weekend intervened.)

Looks as if the situation has gotten worse instead of better.

Website still shows a ship date for the Glowlight of June 5th.

I ordered one today and my ship date is at June 21st???

That rules out Father's Day gifts.

Let's hope things improve soon.

I ordered mine on Bestbuy.com and it shipped out 5/31/12. They are available right now to order online and are shipping within 1-2 business days.

I also checked the actual Best Buy stores in my area and almost all of them have them in stock, you might want to try Best Buy in your area.

Good luck :smileywink:

Mine also shipped on 5/31 from Best Buy. Of course it's coming from California (to New England) and isn't expected to arrive until Thursday! Meanwhile I leave for a cruise on Friday... so I hope I don't miss the UPS guy!

It's in stock in a few BB's nearby. It's tempting to pick one up this weekend, and return the one coming in the mail.

Our store has finally fulfilled all reservations and now have a few to sell. I'm hoping that we will get more in before father's day so we can have some in stock for father's day and not have to revert to reservations.

Re: Barnes and Noble to Stabilize Nook Glow Shipments by Next Week

I called my local B&N to see if they had any Glowlights in stock and was told no, and had resolved to order one online. I decided to google to see if any retail results popped up (call me impatient!) and got a hit on Target.  My local Target actually had three units in stock so I went and grabbed one.  My NC has now been handed down to my middle daughter :smileyhappy:

Re: Barnes and Noble to Stabilize Nook Glow Shipments by Next Week

After being on multiple waiting lists and calling to check for any available stock, I got tired of waiting for B&N.  I looked up my local Target stores and all of them have the Glow in stock. I stopped by the one closest to me this morning that had 3 in stock and I got one!

So for anyone tired of waiting and waiting, I'd try Target.

I checked in the Miami, FL area and every Best Buy and Target have the NSTG in stock. Barnes and Noble is probably still fulfilling orders tha were placed online.

I did the exact same thing as the last two posters. I got tired of waiting on B&N to get my Glowlight. I picked one up at my local Target, after seeing their ad on TV.

I was tried to get mine on launch day...I had a pre-order and everything, but because I couldn't get up there the day they called they sold my NOOK w/Glowlight to someone else.  I didn't even get 24 hours to come...I WAS QUITE PISSED OFF!  I still haven't gotten one yet and I've about given up on trying.  Barnes & Noble customer service is worst than COMCAST...and COMCAST REALLY SUCKS!  The Kindle Touch keeps looking better and better...not to mention their Public Domain books are all FREE!

B&N's public domain books are free too.

Be careful that you're comparing apples to apples. Lots of free public domain books are available on Amazon, on B&N, on Gutenberg, ManyBooks, and other sources. Many of them suffer from uncorrected errors in scanning and OCR that make them nearly unreadable. If you're comparing those to the (not free) B&N Classics line, be aware that B&N Classics are generally well proofread and well formatted.

Not all BN stores are out of stock. The store manager could have easily called another store and had one shipped.

Not to mention the fact that its now been two months since launch day, so not getting a pre order on that day could be remedied now by ordering from BN.com or going to a store. BN seems to have stabilized the inventory enough that you should be able to find one.
