Cannot install apps

I have had my Nook Color since they came out and have purchased apps before with no problem   However, I purchased an app this weekend and could not ever get it to install.  It would act like it was downloading and installing but then at the end would go back to the icon having a "download" bar on it.  I tried archiving and redownloading but nothing works.  I contacted support and the gentleman replicated my situation and said he couldn't get the game ot work either and refunded my money.  I didn't think much of it and just assumed it was a glitch with the game.  However, I just purchased another app (Pocket Ants) and now it is doing the same thing.  It must be a problem with my Nook or the software.  Has anyone else encountered this or have any suggestions?  I want to be able to purchase apps and play them.

Re: Cannot install apps

When that happened to my apps I turned off the NC and turned it back on. That fixed the problem in my case (I was updating 3 apps and downloading 1 new one.

Re: Cannot install apps

You may need to have your NC memory repartitioned so that you have more room for apps. Take it to a BN store and ask them. They can repartition it for you. The original NC's did not have enough room for a lot of apps. The NC has to be unregistered, so be sure to save sideloaded stuff on your computer to put back on later. Also write down your wishlist if you have one.BN content will redownload when you re-reregister, but the wishlist won't save.

Re: Cannot install apps

On the Nook Tablet forum one user found a nifty solution. It's worked for me too.

Sometimes there isn't enough free memory space available to install the app.

Archive the apps that you aren't using. And then try and install.

Please keep in mind that there are some apps that will use up 100Mb to 200MB of memory. Sometimes they download data after words. So you might think you just have just 25 apps and that should not use up memory. But it's always a good idea to archive some and then restart your Nook and then try the install of the new apps.
