Hi all- my NST has plenty of life left in it, but I'm considering an upgrade to the new one anyway because I find the light so compelling. Having to also buy a new 30 or 40-dollar case would put me off a bit, though. Does anyone know if my current case will be compatible with the new model?
I'm also proposing "NSTwG" as our standard abbreviation for the new model. ;-)

From the NOOK Simple Touch main page right on B&N's website:
Ultra-Light and Super Thin
Lighter than a paperback Lightest NOOK Ever Less than 7 ounces
Height: 6.5 inches
Width: 5.0 inches
Depth: 0.47 inches
Weight: 7.48 ounces3
From the NOOK Simple Touch with GlowLight main page:
Lightest NOOK Ever
Less than 7 ounces
Height: 6.5 inches
Width: 5.0 inches
Depth: 0.47 inches
Weight: 6.95 ounces²
Since they are exactly the same size (though one is about half an ounce lighter), I would have to say, yes, the cover will work for the new one.

Thanks Nallia. While information about both devices' sizes is easily found, what I couldn't find is confirmation about whether the covers are compatible (which is dependent upon the shape/position of the holes to which the cover attaches). I would definitely hope the covers are compatible, but it's not inconceivable that the covers could intentionally be made to be incompatible (I'm sure the profit margin on those covers is quite high).
Like I said, I would hope B&N wouldn't do that, but I just wanted to know if anyone could give positive confirmation before I preordered the new one.
Thanks again.

Note that the original covers for the Nook Color, are compatible with the latest Nook Tablets. I'd wager you are safe.
Acer Iconia A500 (two): Android 4.0.3 rooted;; Nook Color: B&N 1.4.3 rooted
Nook Touch (two): B&N 1.2.1 rooted; Nook 1stEd/3G (two): B&N 1.7.0 rooted.
Customer loyalty is earned, not commanded or deserved, and easily lost.
Nothing is foolproof, because fools are so ingenious. Same for rooters.
