Keyboard/case for tablet

I want a folding case with a built-in keyboard, as are available for some of the other 7" tablets. Any available? Does nT have bluetooth? The ones I've seen use a full size USB connector.

Re: Keyboard/case for tablet

At this time there are no keyboards for the Nook Tablet.

The 'hacked' Nook color has bluetooth and USB but neither has been enabled yet in the NT.

To the best of my knowledge there is also no wireless option that works either.

Re: Keyboard/case for tablet

Some people say keyboards can work for nook and some say they are having difficulties with their keyboards. I'd like to buy one two but havent really got a clear answer.

Re: Keyboard/case for tablet

The keyboards that I have seen require bluetooth and the Nook Tablet does not have bluetooth.  So, they would not work.  I am not aware of any other type of keyboard that would work with the Nook Tablet.

How about a usb keyboard?  Would that work or do they have the larger connector to interface to a pc?

The USB keyboards I have seen do not have a mini-USB connector.  Also, you would need Android drivers.  This topic has come up before and, so far, there have been no keyboard options for the Nook Tablet.

Re: Keyboard/case for tablet

I definitley agree.  When I first got my Nook Tablet I was telling all my friends that I practicley had a laptop (which was the Nook)  so then I went to a compter game website on my Nook and I was getting ready to play the game until I realized that there was no keyboard or even arrow keys!  Man was I mad!!!!!!  Then about a month later I went to that website on my dad's computer to find that where the name of the game is right next to it, it said "NOW PLAYABLE ON ANDROID, I-PAD AND KINDLE"  I was so mad when they said Kindle.  I wish that the Nook makers would make a keyboard and insert it into the where the headphones go just like the Kindle!!!

There're right angle micro-USB to USB female adapters, so the size of the plug is not the issue, its the keyboard driver and having USB host mode enabled.

Re: Keyboard/case for tablet

I hear you!!    I don't know why BN won't do an upgrade that would allow us to attach a keyboard.  It would really add to the functionality of this tablet.  If I can down load Office Pro then a keyboard should be just around the corner, right!!

I have the Nook tablet 8G so I hope they decide soon to do something for this. I know with the 16 gig there is some sort of workaround in progress, but you have to do some internal tweaking with the android OS.  Such a pain.

BN just get our 16 AND 8 Tablets external keyboard functionality!!!       PLEASE.

Re: Keyboard/case for tablet

A keyboard is a great idea, but I doubt that you will see it for the Nook Tablet.  I have stopped ranting and accepted the fact that B&N views the NT as an enhanced reader and not as a tablet.  If you really want a tablet with a keyboard, your options are the iPad or one of the Android tablets with an integrated keyboard dock accessory.  Neither option is cheap, but it will give you the functionality that you want.  Also, both options will run the B&N Nook app.

You're reviving a thread that's been dead since June of last year ... to say that? What use is that comment in this Forum, which is for people who still have Nook Tablets or who have picked up one since they've become available so cheap either refurbished or used?

If you want to talk about the HD, head over to the "Nook Talk" forum and you'll find live threads about the HD and HD+.
