My browser suddenly crashes..specifically when I log into Facebook.

I've had my Nook Tablet since Christmas,  I love the thing...it's terrific to be able to carry my library with me everywhere I go~ it's also great to browse the news sites and facebook whereever I am as well..however..

    Yesterday, the Nook Tablet simply started to act in a strange manner.  The Browser started to crash whenever I logged onto Facebook.  I simply log onto facebook, but by the time the page fully loads, the entire browser disappears!  This has happened EVERY time that I've tried to log into Facebook.

During the attempts to log onto Facebook, I've even seen the Nook go through the cycle of  suddenly showing the Nook "read forever" sign, then slowly waking up... until it got to the first blue page. But I had NOT shut it down.. it simply did it on it's own!  I've not seen this phenomena happen again, it only occured once.. but it was strange to watch it happening!

The browser, strangly enough; doesn't crash on any OTHER website.. only Facebook. I'm wondering why it does this.

 I downloaded and installed the Dolphin browser, but the same thing happened; it also crashed when loading the Facebook page. It's fine when loading any other webpage.

I've done a soft reboot.. several times, in fact. The browser still crashes when attempting to load the Facebook website.

 Shoot, this may be caused by the Facebook servers..but this doesn't occur when loading the Facebook website on my desktop computer.

 Soo; what does everyone think? How can I solve this problem?

I have the EXACT same issue - and I've had my Nook Tablet for a month now - and it's only been doing this for a couple of days.  I too downloaded and installed Dolphin, and that seemed to work for awhile but now it's happening again.  I think maybe if we keep it so that it's set up to only work in Tablet mode not Desktop mode then perhaps this might not happen.  I think I did do that and it was working so I ventured into Desktop mode again and then it started happening again, but I am not positive. I wasn't paying that close attention.  I cannot think of any other variables that would cause this and I'm SHOCKED that out of the 98 views of this post that NO ONE cared to respond ! Have you figured out a solution since this began happening or what... what are you doing about it now ? I am becoming a bit depressed because I was VERY happy with my Nook. I didn't even care that the apps suck and that it was pretty much only good for Gmail, Facebook, Youtube, Netflix, and a few random websites -- and being one of the best eReaders ever. Not exactly a Tablet if you ask me but that was fine .... but take away Facebook and you're taking about 60 percent of it's usage as far as I'm concerned. I'd love to hear an update from you and I hope it resolved itself somehow -- Kyle

I just had an idea as to why this might be happening - and I haven't tried it out to see if I'm right.   Facebook, at least for me is setup so that only one person may be using it at one time, and it records these as users and from which device is using it.  I have it set up this way through my Privacy Settings (?).  Well, if you're like me you've got your PC at home where you are also using your Tablet... perhaps since my PC is running at the same time my Tablet is and I always have Facebook up on my PC that when I turn on my Tablet it is able to get as far as bringing the page up but then it notices it's coming from a different device and it automatically closes because it is not the device from which it was signed in from. So what I'm going to try is logging out on my PC and then bring up Facebook on my Tablet.  It's worth a shot and I'll let you know how that goes. You should try it too whether or not it works for me as no one is the same.    good luck !

We are having the same problem, but noticed it's only tied to ONE facebook account.  My mom's crashes.  Mine works fine.  If you find a fix, please update the thread.  I think we've tried everything.

I have been having the same problem with Facebook recently. In the past month, I'd say (September 2012).  The browser will just suddenly stop and disappear putting me to my start up "home".

Which Facebook front-end are you on, www.facebook.com or touch.facebook.com?

My Nook Color always goes through to touch.facebook.com and Ive never had it crash the stock browser.

I think that Facebook might kick me into touch.facebook.com because I leave my stock browser set to mobile and leave PC mode browsing to my Dolphin browser. However, for people who prefer to leave it in PC mode, it may help to specifically go to touch.facebook.com and then bookmark that. It is, at least, worth a try.

Any updates on getting your Tablets to work?  Mine is doing this too.  I even took it to B&N because I have a warranty and they traded out my Tablet, but the new one is doing exactly the exactly the same thing.
