NOOK for PC vs. NOOK Windows 8 app

Got a new W8 laptop. Any advantages in having the W8 app in addition to the regular PC program. Mostly for downloading and managing content, don't do much reading on the laptop. The app is "cool" and fun to play with, but does it have any real advantageous features? The shop interface is kind of nice and may over take the regular bn.com portal in many cases, but other than that, I can't think of anything.

Opinions?

The Win8 app can read some enhanced books that the regular PC app can't.  I'm guessing that might apply to enhanced magazines too, but I haven't checked.

Re: NOOK for PC vs. NOOK Windows 8 app

How can I download and save the Windows 8 app? When I try to download it, it only asks if i want to install it (from the windows store). I have a laptop and on bn.com, it is listed under mobile apps. Is there another version for PCs or do you use the 'mobile' version and how can you save the app to your computer?

http://www.barnesandnoble.com/u/nook-for-windows-8/379003757    If you go to this link and then click on the link for the windows store where they are telling you to download Windows 8, it takes you to this screen.

This screen has no link to the windows store. It seems like the path to this download needs to be alot more clear
