NST 1.1.2 vs NST GL 1.1.5 - software differences?

Was just wondering if those that have purchased the new GlowLight are seeing any differences in the software? Any improvements to highlighting, other things that have been requested?  Or is new software just to enable turning the GlowLight on and off?

Looking forward to hearing your feedback!  Thanks!

Re: NST 1.1.2 vs NST GL 1.1.5 - software differences?

One thing I've noticed that *could* be related is that, when I'm unlocking the screen, it consistently works on the first try.  With my prior NST, it usually took two tries.  I'm not sure if that's related to the hardware (I read there were also upgrades to touch sensitivity on the hardware itself), due to the software, or just some unique quirk in my prior device.

Re: NST 1.1.2 vs NST GL 1.1.5 - software differences?

I am interested in knowing this as well!  I will probably be in the market for a new e-ink Nook, as 1.1.2 seems to have killed my NST and it is now only reliable when plugged in (see my "1.1.2 screwup" post on the hardware support forum).  I love my Nook Tablet, but I want an e-ink reader, too--and the built-in light seems like a great idea for my rather dimly-lit condo.

I will probably force myself to wait a while before buying it, though--I will be watching this forum eagerly for any signs of software issues with the Nook Glow.  Maybe I should wait until a few lots have shipped out, the frenzy has died down, and any bugs have become apparent.

Re: NST 1.1.2 vs NST GL 1.1.5 - software differences?

I've run across one really odd difference between the two versions:

On my NST, "A Tale of Two Cities" displays and is sorted as "Tale of Two Cities". (None of the other titles I have that begin with "A" are properly sorted, however.) On the Glow, it displays and is sorted as "A Tale of Two Cities".

I noticed this too!  It was driving me crazy why I couldn't see it where it was supposed to be.  I even had my library showing on both my NST and NSTGL and couldn't figure it out.  I finally did a search.  This happened on another one of my books too, I think my bible.  The name was changed. Weird.

If it is only happening with one or two books and isn't changing them all, would hazard a guess that they didn't update the software; rather you have a more recent version of the book on the glowworm.  And they changed the metadata of the book in the process.  Noticed different versions of books (that look identical) were loaded on the NST vs glow demo models over the weekend.

I am not sure if this answer belongs here, however, I have noticed that the dictionary on the NSTGL is not as confusing, when you are reading a definition, as it is on the NST.  By confusing I mean that it is easier to read the characters, especially those in italics.

That seems very likely.  When I first moved from the N1E to the NST, I noticed changes in certain books (like The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo being listed under the translator's name instead of Stieg Larsson) but when I redownloaded the same book to the N1E I discovered that it wasn't the device; they'd changed the metadata for the copy on the B&N site.
