As a product, the idea of nook branded headphones is okay, might do fine if these are great headphones, but I think the bigger picture here is that BN is extending the nook brand to include premium audio. This is clearly setting stage for the eventual Nook music store imho.

With Netflix, Hulu Plus and Pandora already beinig on the NT, I would think that is enough justification on it's own to do something to improve the sound (especially Pandora).

Re: Nook Audio 0E250?

True, existing video and music apps are justification enough... Although imho the time and money investment to design audio with a unique nook styling is clearly aimed at branding the nook as a premium audio device, something it has not yet had the market positioning for... While it has slways been possible to use the nook apps with High quality speakers or headphones, the nook has previously positioned itself as a reading device first. If, as we have been told, Barnes and Noble has plans to expand to a nook music store, a necessary first step IMHO is to create the hardware snd brand image to make music sales work well in the market... I think the headphones are the right first step if thats the direction they want to take... Imho you launch premium nook branded audio accessories first, second, you launch the music and video stores, and then maybe you release a smaller nook music focused device?

Re: Nook Audio 0E250?

So i can confirm now that i've seen them in store, that the IE nook ear buds are 20 dollars. Havent seen the big ones yet. Much cheaper than the other headphones barnes ans noble sold for nook in the beginning. ( they were like 30 bucks at least.)
