Re: Nook Simple Touch 1.2 update

No problems with the 1.2 update. Text seems darker and sharper (this may be a placebo effect), page turning the same. I like the new dictionary.

I do wish they had allowed sorts in the shelves. When adding to the shelf the only sort is alpha and it is hard sometimes to find my new books to add to a shelf. I've just about given up on shelves. Too much fussy work.

Yes, I am having no problems & yes, I can hear you just fine; no need to yell. :smileywink:

Re: Nook Simple Touch 1.2 update

My Nook automatically installed the 1.2 update a month ago.  Today, when I turned on WiFi, I saw a black screen with a white bubble saying something like: Wait Updating.  This message, the same as occurred during the 1.2 update, lasted for half an hour or more.

My firmware still shows 1.2.  What has happened?

Re: Nook Simple Touch 1.2 update

I wish I could get rid of the press "n" to turn on/activate bar...why was this reinstated? Surely after a few times folks can figure it out? It's visually annoying.

I actually prefer the new page-turning algorithm. Yes, I do notice a difference. To my eye it's a little bit slower -- not enough to matter -- and much less prone to ghosting.

Keriflur, I couldn't agree with you more.  The issue for me was if the new firmware caused a degradation in performance of the device.
