I currently own an original Nook reader and am quite happy with it. However, I've been looking at some type of tablet to use primarily for web surfing/email and be able to do magazines.
Do you think it's worth the extra $ to get the tablet, or better to stick with the color?
I don't anticipate doing a whole lot of video, with the exception of possibly entertaining my kids with a YouTube video at times.

The Nook Tablet is much better for web surfing than the Nook Color. The more accurate screen and much faster handling of moderately complex web pages makes it worth the extra money.
You may also wish to check out the free Dolphin Web Browser when you get it. I find it works better than the built-in browser.

For the price difference, I think you would get better performance from the 8GB Nook Tablet. Also, with the Andriod for Nook card, you can create a 32GB Android Tablet with Android market access and not void your warranty. You can see it here: http://www.androidfornook.com. I don't work for AFN, but I love their product.
