The NC looks new. The 'n' button is a little more shallow than my other units, but it functions just fine. It shipped with 1.4.1 installed. I was pleased to find a power adapter and USB cable inside.
My order also arrived yesterday. Bummer about your missing item. I did get my pair of devices but found that the NST cable was defective. I hoped for a cable swap at my local B&N store but they told me I had to call to get a replacement. I should have the new cable in 3-5 days. The NST is interesting. I was very surprised to see that it offers no password protection for the device--only for shopping (and the default is to have no password protection even for that.) The NST came with 1.1.0. I expect that around the home, I'll use the NST in place of my old nook 1st ed.
I haven't opened the nc box yet to check that one out...a project for today.
Yes, I also paid AZ tax on my order for a total of $158.83.
The one confusing thing about the order process is that the offer shows optional Square Trade warrantly protection which was supposed to pop up as an option during my order process. I checked every screen but never saw it. I know I can still manually buy it, but it might be confusing since the order contained two devices and the warranty folks may expect one device per purchase. I wasn't sure that I'd go for the warranty anyway but was surprised not to see the offer pop up during my purchase.
All in all, assuming my new NST cable arrives from B&N, I'll say the eBay purchase process of both devices was an easy one, the price for the pair was very good, and shipping speed was superb. Since the offer still exists, other can still participate. I see that 5775 ncs were sold and 5521 NSTs were sold so most folks did opt for the pair.
