Transfer Data to new SD Card?

Hi --

I have a 16GB card in my NC and it's almost full. I am planning to buy a 32GB card. Does anyone know the best way to transfer my data from the 16GB to the 32GB? My computer has a card reader if that will help.

Purchase or borrow a second card reader and copy from one to the other.

Or,

1) Create a folder named "NCuSD" in a location you know on your PC/Mac.

2) Copy the files from your uSD to that folder on your PC/Mac.  (Copy them so that you still have them.)

3) Copy them from that folder on your PC/Mac to the new uSD.

Peace,

Jeremy

Thanks! After thinking about it I think I will try putting the new card in the NC and formatting it, connect the NC to my computer, put the old card in the card reader and try sideloading the old card's data onto the new card.

Good thing your thinking! Where was my mind at I yesterday?? I forgot to mention formating with the NC.

Wonder what I forgot this morning? I still have about 3 1/2 hours yet to find out.

BP, I still like your suggestion that the OP create a folder on their computer and make a copy of the content there - backup copies are good things :smileyhappy:

Re: Transfer Data to new SD Card?

Isn't that JinSC's suggestion??

But I will underscore the backup statement for any NC. I have Titanium Backup  on a weekly basis, both from CM7 side and the B&N/ManualNooter side. The CM7 backup is filed into folder, separate from the B&N?ManualNooter backup, though both on the uSD card.

When I upgrade I do a CWM backup. But come to think of it, I wonder if that works with dual boot on emmc...? In other words, does CWM catch the alternate partitions?

Though I am getting off-topic, that is something I should look into. I have not performed a CWM backup lately.

d'oh!  Hadn't caught that it was Jin who'd effectively recommended the backup.
