or what if there were  a poker app where you could play against nook friends and bet your ebooks :smileysurprised:?

where everyone playing selects an ebook from their nook library to put in the pot and winner takes all :smileyindifferent:.

Talk about a high stakes game!

I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't be possible to actually transfer ebooks like that, but card games for the fun it of is certainly a possibility.

I want to see Tower Defense games too. In addition to Plants vs. Zombies, one of my other all time favorite Tower Defense game is on the PlayStation 3, of all places, called PixelJunk Monsters.

Re: What Nook Apps Would you Like?

Sorry for double posting, but Checkers just got approved and I noticed there was some interest for the game in this thread. If you download the game, please let me know what you think!

Re: What Nook Apps Would you Like?

& also,

would a game like Hex Empire work :smileyhappy:?

it's a turn based strategy/domination game played against computer players.

Reminds me a bit of "Risk".

Quite simple, but surprisingly addictive, and a good way to kill time.

the controls seem like they'd be very conducive to a touchscreen as well.

Let fly the Jolly Roger if none can be found to sell me red rum >=D!

Note to self: "red rum" backwards spells murder =S...
Is there a message in that? Idk *shrug*

Re: What Nook Apps Would you Like?

I would like to see a Starbucks storefinder and account management app.  Also would like to see a Barnes and Noble store finder app.  I realize these aren't games but would be  very helpful.  Thanks and good luck!

Re: What Nook Apps Would you Like?

I would like an app that allows me to track books I've read.  I would like to be able to access search the data by author or title.  I would like the data available to me offline.  I know "goodreads" does this, but you have to be WIFI connected.

Re: What Nook Apps Would you Like?

An ebook reader wiht more features, esp. landscape mode.  Aldiko and Moon+ are often mentioned as good apps.  I contacted the developers of each.  Moon+ said he wasn't interested unless B&N gave him an NC to test on.  Aldiko's dev said they would consider it.

Also, file management.

Re: What Nook Apps Would you Like?

I would personally like fun, game like apps. For example plants verses zombies, world of goo, pocket god, doodle god, flower garden, and things like that. Most of the apps on the nook color are over priced and boring. For example angry birds is only a dollar for an itouch and its $3 on the nook color.

An app for Book Shopping when you're not WIFI connected....it would function sort of like Pulse or the Email App.  Shop the downloaded index, choose, and then when you are in wifi range, it automatically downloads.

Re: What Nook Apps Would you Like?

I remember before people were asking for a pinball game and a racing game. I dont know if you guys have the tools for these but I think they would be pretty good sellers. Also I think like a shuffleboard or curling game would be pretty cool and run pretty smooth on the Nook Color.

Re: What Nook Apps Would you Like?

How about a simple photo album or wallet that makes it easy to sort and arrange just the pictures you want to be able to look at or show off? The Nook default tool is very klunky and displays all the pdfs I have loaded as well as the wallpaper choices.

Re: What Nook Apps Would you Like?

First off, I hope everyone had a nice Father's Day Weekend!

Can't thank everyone enough for all the suggestions. All of your suggestions have been communicated to the rest of the team and we are furiously working on new titles based on what you have told us, while fixing issues some of you have reported with Checkers (we are just waiting for B&N to approve the update).

One thing to just to let everyone know, the chances of us working on "utility" apps like file managment, photo albums, translators, video players and others suggestion are very, very low. We are setup as a games studio so all our available tools are game creation focused. I wish we could bring some of that stuff to life for you, but we'll hopefully make up for that with the games :smileyhappy:

I agree.  We need some security software.
