Re: What Nook Apps Would you Like?

I would like to see a pretty, basic brick-breaker game. Two apps are currently available: one is so dull that I fall asleep just looking at the preview, and the other is 3D, which is beyond my limited abilities to navigate in such a space. Pretty jewel-type graphics would be awesome on the nc thanks for asking what we would like. I'll be watching for the new apps from your company

Have you seen our take on the brick breaking game called Blastout HD? Here is a video of the game in action -

If you have any feedback on it, let me know :smileyhappy:

Re: What Nook Apps Would you Like?

I have your brick breaker game Ryan and it is just ok. Not great but not bad. I would like to see one with more upgrades available and maybe a bit faster ball and harder more full of brick levels. Add some missiles or some obstacles that when hit somehow affect the ball or send it to a random places on the level. You definitely have a good start but in my opinion it just needs more depth to it. The game feels like an early 90's version of the game. Maybe spice it up a bit or just make a whole new game. Toy Studio has good games at good prices so if you guys made a part 2 or whatever of the game and added some content I would happily pay to get it.

Re: What Nook Apps Would you Like?

The speed is something I've noticed a lot of comments about. It is really tricky to get the right "feel" for the speed since adjusting the ball might make the paddle feel "off." It's not an excuse, but an explaination of one of the difficulties in tweaking a game. I'll be sure to relay them to the team.

Re: What Nook Apps Would you Like?

I'm not sure if this might have already been addressed, but I'd like to see a decent music player app. The one included with the nook stinks. Maybe I'm just missing the hidden taps or menu's but a music player that doesn't have playlists? Someone really dropped the ball on that one!

Second I'd like to see a more intuitive search option in the app store. When I try to search for an app of a particular name it consistantly searches for books as well. When I try to narrow the search using the "browse" button I end up getting a list of all the apps rather than just the one that I entered in the search box. Not a good user experience.

I would SOOOOOOOO love to see the apps for PHASE 10 and SPITE & MALICE (card games) and LOSE IT' (a free diet app found on both Apple AND Android devices).  If those are in the upcoming list, PLEASE let me kow. Thanks a bunch. Love the Nook!!

I agree. I would love to sample a game before spending the $$ on new games I haven't experienced first. I use my iPod (touch) everyday and sample the game before buying.

Re: What Nook Apps Would you Like?

With the holiday shopping season fast approaching, I would LOVE an app to help me organize and track multiple gift-shopping lists.  It would be great if each individual list could track the amount spent per person (as purchased gifts are checked off amount spent could be entered) and also if each of those totals would feed into the total spent collectively (to help stay within budget).

I used to have an app on my Palm pilot called Handy Shopper that worked great for this.  I'd love to have something like that on my NC.

I would love to have an app that would randomly select a book from my library for me to read. Sometimes it takes me forever to make a decision lol

Re: What Nook Apps Would you Like?

I mentioned this way back when this post was first created, but would like to restate my challenge to Toy Studio (the thread creator):

I would love to see some tower defense games and I know that falls under your company's focus.  So hop to it!  :smileyhappy:

In addition, maybe some simple RPGs along the lines of Tradewinds, or adventure stories along the lines of Grisly Manor.  Both formats fit perfectly to the NC as a reader and to Toy Studio as a game developer.

My 2 cents  (for a total of 4 in this thread)

Autodesk sketchbook mobile / sketchbook pro! Please add this, and I will probably not root my nook... This is the one thing that has me considering an iPad for next purchase...

Agree. I find that people who read a lot like to play word games........they just sort of go hand in hand!

I would love a Scrabble game.

Re: What Nook Apps Would you Like?

As far as games go a little rpg would be nice ^_^ Otherwise it would be cool to have a files app that would let me move things around between folders and between the nc and the sd card instead of having to connect to the laptop to do that. I dunno if that could be done with an app, but it would sure be convenient.
