What you actually should have done was archive the app and then re-download it. Also, if you did not know, you can check for updates to all your apps in the app section of your device. The button is near the top right. You may get a list of apps that have updates available. I usually check once a week.
As far as the CS runaround, try calling again and talking to someone else and mention that you meant to archive and not delete. On paper, they officially don't have to do anything for you when you delete an item, but it's possible to appeal to a supervisor.
In any case, when you get WWF back, your games will still be there, they are saved on WWF's servers
