The Mortal Bone (Hunter Kiss Series #4)
I'll have my copy w/in the next two days. I might have to glance back at the earlier books because it's been more than a year and a half since I read A Wild Light,(Hunter Kiss Series #3), but this series is worth it! So far this series has been completely entertaining and exquisitely written!

I bought my copy with my Christmas money.
I remember the ending of A Wild Light, some. I'm going to have to look too! Maybe I can sneak this one in, in short reads this month. ![]()

Gaaa, and I was hoping to pace myself! That doesn't sound promising, well, maybe I can play sick this weekend as I'm still getting over this head cold, just so I can read all weekend again. ;D
Thank you! So glad to hear it's amazing.

Okay this series has got to be one of the best I've read...like TOP 5! :-) I loved the ending...it was fabulous. I think this was the last book though... Can someone confirm? I'll wait a little bit to put more of my thoughts in, with spoiler space. Cheers!

I finished the book last night and really loved it. I am not sure that this is the last book because she seemed to leave a few things that I just didn't feel that were finished. She masy not write anymore right now but left the possibility to do more. Overall a very satisfying read.

I finished the book the day before yesterday. It's damned good! This book is superbly written. Although it's been more than a year and one-half since the last installment, I didn't need to glance back at the earlier books. All relevant events are succinctly and beautifully integrated into the story. Amazingly, this installment could be read as a stand alone book.
This series and this book uniquely melds supernatural elements with Sci-Fi concepts. The protagonist, Maxine Kiss, is strong but extremely sympathetic. The little 'Reaper King' demons who live on Maxine's skin during daylight hours are intriguing; and, other supporting characters are engaging/interesting.
The book's story is compelling. The mystical bond which ties Maxine's heart to the four hearts of her little demons is severed. They finally have their freedom and no longer live on Maxine's skin during the day. Inevitably, they become vicious espousing the virtues that made them the Reaper Kings among the demons. Furthermore, the severing of the bond among Maxine an her four little demon kings causes the disintegration of the magical wall which separates the demon dimension from the earthly plane. Demon armies are freed and threaten to eventually consume all human life on earth.

I finally finished the book today. It took me about 4 days...I just wasn't into it as much as the past books, even though I liked it.
I found the scenes with Maxine and Zee after the bond was severed to be touching. I think she and the boys finally realize how they really feel about one another and I was happy with the way the book ended.....I was getting worried that something drastic was going to happen to one of them. Maxine's relationship with Zee and the boys is what I've liked most about the series.
I couldn't find anything about a book 5, but I did find a new short story (Armor of Roses) paired with one of the novellas.
Armor of Roses and The Silver Voice
I agree with Toni...she left plenty of stuff open so there is enough there for more books. I would like to see something more about how Maxine's parents met and more around Jack's crystal skull.

Oh and something else I have to mention here...
**SPOILER**
How about her being Preggers!!!! I have been wondering for a while when it would happen but that was totally unexpected! Didn't even think of it when she was feeling nauseous...I just figured it was because of her injuries. Hopefully she can change the future...and their sort-of temporary truce with Blood Mama prevents her from killing Maxine.
