). Also, I love the title.

This book is very good. It's not as dark or acutely intense as her Maker's Song series, but it provides a solid crime/investigative story with sympathetic/appealing main characters, periodic humor and well-described magic. The book reaches a very tidy conclusion that satisfies but ultimately seems perhaps a bit too convenient with the mystery of Kallie's past and inexplicable magical power being revealed immediately after the criminal plot line is resolved.

Thanks to Paul and all of you for having me here again! What a thrill to have BDM featured here!! I'm really glad you've enjoyed it!
But, yeah, it'll be next July before the 2nd book - BLACK HEART LOA - is released.
With two on-going series and a fulltime day job (which I hope not to need some day!), a book every six months is all I can manage. I would love, love, love to put out more than two books a year and very much plan to work up to that.
What's really exciting is that readers (like you!) want to see more books from me!! Yay!
