Just pre-ordered it. I like the law enforcement angle with a protagonist investigator employed by the Federal Bureau of Preternatural Investigations. Also love the Jefferson, Mississippi location. I mean who could resist a case of gruesome vamp mutilations with a sexy x-fiance assigned to assist. And the background of vamp intolerance/discrimation and demonstrations sounds really colorful.

I missed this one with my gift certificate purchases and now I will have to wait to get till my son gets paid and then get it.  But I do want to read it.

Love the cover, right after I finish this I'm out the door and B&N here I come. It's this her first book, don't remember seeing anything by her before.

Now I was wondering where I'd heard that name before. Anyone know off hand if she's typically previously a short story author?

My son suprised me with this book this morning which was really nice now I have all three of this month's selections to read.  Guess I will read them in the order that they are features.

TiggerBear,

According to her web site Blood Law is her first published work.  It does not list any short stories or anthologies that she might have contributed to..  Name didn't ring any bells with me.

Yes, this is indeed Jeannie's debut novel – that's why I was so excited to get it. and, yes, she has written some short stuff – here's the link:

Re: JULY PARANORMAL FEATURE #2: Blood Law by Jeannie Holmes

Sure, NOW you post the July releases, LOL!  I was her half way through the day, on Canada Day :-) and there wasn't anything up yet!

The book cover reminds me of the Anna Strong series by Jeanne C. Stein...they look very similar.

Nobody has this one yet though...I have a few others to read first anyways.  :-)

Re: JULY PARANORMAL FEATURE #2: Blood Law by Jeannie Holmes

Hi TiggerBear!

Blood Law is my first novel, and I haven't published any short stories outside of those available on my website, which Paul was kind enough to link to in another post. I must admit short stories aren't my strongest genre. Most of them turn into novels -- that's how Blood Law started, actually. :smileywink:

Hey Jeannie, thanks for stopping by!

Before we begin talking about the actual book, can you tell us a little bit about your journey to become a published author? What inspired you to write a paranormal fantasy?

Hey that how some of the best books start. I think I found one of you shorts going from link to link to link... a few months ago. Glad you got to full novel published level. Looking forward to reading it.  Going book hunting this weekend, it's on my hit list.
