Re: MARCH FEATURE #2: Written in Red by Anne Bishop

I L-O-V-E Anne Bishop – and so does anyone who has ever read her Black Jewel novels. Wow.

She writes amazing dark fantasy and conventional fantasy but (to the best of my knowledge) this novel, Written in Red, is Bishop's first foray into paranormal fantasy.

And here's another interesting thing – PW ripped this book apart but Kirkus loved it!

I'm going to read this novel just to see which review is off the mark....

I could not agree more!  I love the Black Jewels books!  I am excited to see what she has done with paranormal fantasy.

I honestly only read book reviews on this board so I look forward to your comments Paul!

I LOVED this book and can not recommend it enough.  Breathtaking world building, FANTASTIC secondary characters, and an enjoyable main protagonist.   One of those books that absorbs you into it's embrace as you experience it and sticks with you.  It's freaking awesome.  5 stars

I read this and found it very different, not in a bad way.  Will read the second. Where is everyone?  Have I been abandoned.  I have been coming here for a long time and look forward to it-have we moved?  I was wondering if the monthly features are no longer as well?  Is anyone in there? I even had a hard time getting here, which I thought was strange, its not under the "books" pull down.  Heeeeelllppp me

I am still here. Just slow on my reading. It has been very quiet here. But people seem to pop in every so often. The blogs moved, I did post a thread with the link for those.

I am currently reading The Lost.

Thanks for responding.  The blogs are different over there, I guess I was looking for more of this.  Thank you though.

I agree. I like this. I have found so many authors and series on this board. I find that I read a lot of paranormal, fantasy, urban fantasy, etc because of this board. It has brought a whole new world to me.
