* Does a happy dance in the corner *
I am so excited for this book. I love Mercy and I love Charles and Anna. It feels like it has been forever since I have been able to spend some time with them. Tuesday cannot get here fast enough.

I have been waiting so patiently on this one! I think I'm starting to like this series better than Mercy...don't throw things! Cry Wolf was a little rough, but I loved the short story and Hunting Ground. I think most of that is because Bran and Charles always intrigued me after meeting them in Moon Called. But I like the relationship Charles and Anna are forming, and I like seeing more of Charles and how he sacrifices himself for his father.
Briggs is coming to town on the 15th so I'm waiting until then to get the book
Good thing I'm behind on my new releases so I have something to tide me over until then....

Finished the book earlier today and as with Patricia Briggs' books I really enjoyed it. I don't want to post anything here that will spoil anything for anyone so will wait until others are done too. I will say that I was a little disappointed in how Charles' "issues" were solved, it seemed anticlimatic to me. Maybe I wanted Anna to have more of a roll in helping to solve said issues, but perhaps I am trying to invoke a little of Mercy on Anna, and she is a totally different personality type. Ok, 'nuf said until others have finished the book too. I'll see what Patricia has to say about things tomorrow at the signing...

I loved this book!! I, too, will leave out anything spoiler-y to give people time to finish. I can see what you are saying about Charles and his "issues", but in the end I was OK with it. It is hard to not compare Anna and Mercy, but I have to keep reminding myself that they are two different animals, pun intended.
I love how Mercy and Adam and Charles and Anna are kind of two sides of the same coin. Anna is calm and tactful. She is diplomatic. Mercy is blunt and abrasive. She doesn't mince words and she calls it like she sees it. I am really excited to see them interact together for an extended period of time. I would like to see maybe Anna come visit Mercy in the next book and have them do like a super woman team-up. That would be awesome.

That would be something to read for sure, but I think Mercy would get frustrated with Anna's laid back approach. I was at a signing last night with P. Briggs and she said her next Mercy book would be finished ahead of schedule, so if we are lucky maybe fall for the next Mercy book? She said it is the first time she has been ahead of schedule with a book since Moon Called. I also think she said something about getting the timelines between the two series more in sync, so makes me wonder if we will see more crossing over of the characters in the books (especially based on the ending in this one.)

Ok yes, they are cute together. I love the way the interacted before they were an official item....especially Mercy's paybacks with the parts bug. Hopfully the teasing and tension will stay now that they are married.
Still...there is something about Charles and Anna that I love. I will read Cry Wolf and skip all the scenes with Walter, Asil, and the witch and just read the ones with Charles & Anna. Yes I know, that means skipping the main plot of the book, but I don't care. They aren't as interesting as the budding relationship.

Im starting this one now.
I picked it up at her signing tonight. Patricia is such a lovely person! There was a small crowd, less than 40 people, so she was able to chat with everyone while signing books. About 7 of us pulled up some chairs and sat around talking with her while she signed stock for the store. She would really fit in on the boards....she loves the same authors we all rave about on here. Someone asked which character she would like with her during the zombie apocalypse....her answer? Harry Dresden. Butcher is one of her favorite UF authors.
So we found out that Zee is based on a real mechanic that used to work on all of her VWs. His customer service skills were just as non existent as Zee's. The bookstore owner who loaned Mercy the fairy book and died in Silver Borne is also based on a real guy who had to close his bookstore when he was deployed to the Middle East.
She has a collection of short stories coming out that will have all the stories printed in anthologies plus a couple of new ones. She is contracted for 3 more books in the Mercy world. Two are Mercy books, the third she's not sure yet. There will be more Alpha & Omega books but sounds like it may be a while. Oh and no book with Anna, Charles, Mercy, and Adam together as main characters. But they may pop up in each other's books like Charles has in the early Mercy books.
I met some nice ladies at the signing, a few are book bloggers and one is a debut author that lives in my area. She was sweet enough to sign books for some of us while we waited. Her book was released last month and the next one is scheduled for the fall. I'll let you all know how it is...

I just finished the book....at the signing people kept referring to the big event.....hmmm something big happens? All I can say is WOW! Didn't see that one coming! So yeah I figured out one of the bad guys, she left some pretty good hints along the way, but the ending? Not a clue...
Since the Mercy and Alpha & Omega books' timelines are all synced up, I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. Patricia said that the Mercy books are her microcosm...it's about how the big events affect the people in the Tri Cities. The Alpha & Omega series is her macrocosm..... Wonder if Mercy and Adam will have a lot of problems dealing with the aftermath since their area seems to be teeming with vampires, fae, and wolves.

Finally read this one! LOL
Another excellent book in this series. Really glad Charles has resolved his ghost issues...it only took him almost losing Anna, LOL! Stubborn man. The ending was a complete shock, but at least justice was served. It will be interesting to see what happens now that the Fae have started something potentially huge and bad, with the humans. Not that humans are any match for the Fae, LOL! I really love Charles and Anna as a couple...they are so great together without it being nauseating like some books. Looking forward to the next one!! :-)
