Re: Sookie Stackhouse

I LOVED this book! It started out a bit slow, in fact, it almost didn't read like Harris' style, but then as details started to unfold, it became more and more intriguing and familiar.

I loved the turn of events, the fights, the encounters, and the love interests. I hope we don't really have to wait a year for the next book! Didn't I read somewhere that she's already started on it?

Re: Sookie Stackhouse

I thought it was great. I was a bit nervous. I heard a couple of bad reviews, but I was glad to see I didn't agree one bit.  It was a whole lot of story for one book.  I might just have to start reading them all over again to get my Sookie fix...

Hi PhyllisJ,

Who is the Gardella Vampire series by? Ill have to check it out. Well keep me posted on what you think of Dead and Gone.

Hi Sarah,

The Gardella Vampire series is by Colleen Gleason and I finished As Shadows Fade.  I started Dead and Gone this morning and so far I am enjoying it.

Hi again. I cant wait for you to finish so we can talk about it. Thanks ill have to check that series out.

Hi Sarah,

I finished Dead and Gone and I Loved it.  I thought the plot of the book was excellent.  It was totally different from any of her other books.  I was sad to see that Bill played such a minor role in this story.  I am wondering if she will see her Grandfather or he is her Great Grandfather in future books?

DAG was a freaking awesome book. There were times I just wanted to give Sookie a hug.

Hi Teresa,

I think it starts on June 14th.  There is a rerun on June 7th.  From what I read, I think this is the correct information.  :smileyhappy:

Re: Sookie Stackhouse

Hi Phyllis

Glad you liked it! I am actually not that sad that Bill wasn't in it so much.... He's just not one of my favorite characters. There is something about him that is just a tad "emo" if you will... I would just like to tell him sometimes be a man and deal with the fact that he screwed up.  I really hope that her great gradfather is in more books and they find some way around everything because I really liked his character and that he gave Sookie another family member to have around her.

What does it mean when nightmares long for dreams and shadows wish for light?

Hi Sarah,

I received Dead and Gone and I can't wait to read it.  I am just finishing up "As Shadows Fade" first.  It is the last book in the Gardella Vampire series and I love that series.  The author is wrapping up the series with this book.  I am sorry to see it ending here.  Then it is on to Sookie.

Hi Sarah, I really enjoyed the book and I hope to see more of her Grandfather in future books.  I must say I do agree with you in a lot of ways regarding Bill, he didn't treat Sookie like a Man (vampire) should have.  Dare I say he treated her like a dog,  he lied to her and used her.  I watched True Blood last season and I am looking forward to season two.

Hi Jacky,

There are 5 books in the series and it is an excellent series.  It is set in the 18th century and centers on a girl named Victoria, she is a vampire slayer, each of the book centers around a different adventure she encounters with most of the same vampires.  In one of the books she gets captures and bitten and almost turned, but she is rescued in time.  Check out Colleen Gleason's website.  I was so sorry to see the series end.

Re: Sookie Stackhouse

I'm reading this series now.  I started this past week and I'm on book 4 now.  I've really enjoyed them so far.  I'm a southerner myself, so the setting and characters are easy for me to relate to.  I haven't watched the show, but I probably will when it comes back on in a few months.

Not usually for another year when the following book comes out.  You might want to check Charlaine website.

Awesome, thanks Phyllis!  ...and just for the record...I do not like the guy they have playing Bill.  He just seems...  "old" for her...  You think they could have found some younger, better looking guy for crying out loud.  Him and Anna P together just kind of creep me out a little...

Re: Sookie Stackhouse

It usually takes several months....and it depends on its popularity too.

I know the last two Twilight books are STILL not in paperback.

It's still worth reading in hardback. Trust me!

Re: Sookie Stackhouse

I finished Dead and Gone today and really loved the book.  For me it did have a few surprised that I hadn't expected.  I'm still hoping that Eric is not her true love.  I like him but I would like to see Sookie with a human or shapeshifter more than a Vampire.
