Those books are wonderful. But be ware she is harsh on the side characters, don't get too attached. They get maimed and killed often.

Thanks for the warning, I will keep that in mind.

Hmm I always put the Hendee series in just fantasy. The period isn't morden

I put  the wonderful Tamara Siler Jones ghost series there too, just because of the period it was written in.

Hi Tig -

First I have heard of Tamara Siler Jones ghost series, I looked them up and they sound very goodI think I am going to order them and read them.

Great list! I've never read Colleen Gleason or Raven Hart before so I just added those authors to my "to read" list. Thanks!

Also, Barb and J.C. Hendee... I really enjoy the Noble Dead novels but, geez, do I consider them paranormal fantasy?  I guess I should but, for whatever reasons, my mind puts that series into conventional fantasy. Still, great series!

Seriously, was 2008 a great year for paranormal fantasy or what? :smileyhappy:

Hi Paul,

Now that you mention it, I think that the Noble Dead novels, should be conventional fantasy, not paranormal fantasy.  I guess I was thinking vampires and lumped it in right along with paranormal fantasy. I think I should add that over in the fantasy section.  :smileyhappy::

Paul when you get to T.A. Pratt read in order:

Blood Engines, Poison Sleep, Dead Reign

Angie Fox is pretty good.  Lots of action and pretty funny.  There were times I was reading at work on lunch and wound up really laughing-out-loud.

Have you posted an official review of Devon Monk's Magic to the Bone?  I'm eyeing it on Kindle.

Kat:

Will do on T.A. Pratt – I was planning on reading all three if possible.

I didn't write an "official" review for the Devon Monk release but my two cents – actually, it's probably a quarter – is on the Magic to the Bone thread, which is around here somewhere. I liked it but I thought the main character was a little two-dimensional. Hopefully Ms. Monk will "flesh her out" in future installments! I'd definitely suggest it to you though –Devon Monk is a new writer and she definitely has some potential.

Kat:

I had the same problem you did at stopping at ten. It's virtually impossible! Anyway, the only authors on your list that I haven't read yet are T.A. Pratt (who I'll be reading soon) and Angie Fox, who I have yet to "experience."

Paul,

Maybe you need to set out an assortment of chocolates and then see them flock in.   I mean salt is fine but with these Dears you might want to add chocolates too.
