I agree. The Mercy Thompson series would make a really good movie or mini series.

Re: WHAT BOOKS OR SERIES WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE MADE INTO A MOVIE?

I'm a pretty big fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series and would love to see some movies made from it. :smileyhappy: And although it actually falls into the teen romance category (you never get too old) I would love to see a movie made from Lauren Kate's Fallen series. On the Kenyon note, I think her Brotherhood of the Sword series, written as Kinley MacGregor, would be interesting on the big screen too!

Charlaine Harris's Harper Connelly series, I've always thought this was by far the best series she has written, and while I like True Blood, I'd rather have Harper!

Also the

Dragonriders of Pern series (mostly The Harper Hall Trilogy and the original Trilogy) by Anne Mccaffrey.

Re: WHAT BOOKS OR SERIES WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE MADE INTO A MOVIE?

I wish "they" could go back into time and make the Eragon movie about 1,000 times better than they did. Last week, I watched the movie for the second time (please do not ask me why, as I do not have an answer), and it was even worse than I remembered it to be. Maybe if that movie had been any good, they'd have continued with the rest of the series. I just re-read these books to prepare myself for the release of the final installment, and I'm still convinced this series would make an excellent movie series as well.

...but I'd still like Jeremy Irons to be in them! :smileywink:

Isn't it sad when they do that?!  It happens all too often!!

I would love to see the Rachel Morgan - The Hollows series in movies.  That is assuming that they don't kill the movie version!

Smite the Damned. Read it and love it!

I would love to see the Mercy Thompson series made into a movie. I think it would be great to have multiple sequels. I would also love to see Laurell K. Hamilton's "Anita Blake" series made into an HBO series! These books take me to another world and I so enjoy reading them!

The Strain (Strain Trilogy #1)

Grimspace (Sirantha Jax Series #1)

Oh so many!  The fact these came to mind may be related to the fact I am thinking about them right now.  Still, theyd all be good.

I still say I would love to see Marion Zimmer Bradley's Darkover series be the base of a movie or series.

Re: WHAT BOOKS OR SERIES WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE MADE INTO A MOVIE?

Definitely a redo of Eragon.

Things I hated /rant initiated

Saphira's instant transformation into a full sized dragon

The movies "magical" transformation of Saphira completely ruined the bond her and Eragon built.  I would compare this to having Ole Yeller getting capped within the first 10 minutes of Ole Yeller, instead of a movie that's a tear jerker for even the hardest of men you'd have a subtle PETA complaint.  Without building up their companionship the movie just feels flat to me.

Angela

Angela and her "cat" play  too great a part in the story to have this sad little cameo.

Limitations of magic

The limits of his power should have been covered in greater detail.  I can't even remember any reference to him training to kill while using little energy in the movie.

Huge flying bad/dog/dragon pet

What the heck was that thing Durza flew around on.  It wasn't an adult Ra'zac, it wasn't a dragon.  Ok ok, forget for a moment the magic flying dust cloud.  Why the heck didn't they mention the wounds Eragon suffered fighting Durza????  Again I feel they didn't even want to make a sequel, this was almost as annoying as movie Brom's "YARRR LETS GO TO THE VARDEN, TO THE VARDEN BOY, VARDEN VARDEN VARDEN".  Dang it movie Brom the real Brom knew Eragon wasn't ready to deal with their politics yet!

White hand?  More like Silly Swirl

Heck even Harry Potter's mark was well known, I for the life of me can't picture movie Eragon's mark of the rider.  Something as special as the white hand should be burnt into the back of my mind, instead I vaguely remember some goofy little curlie-Q that looks like a little girl may have painted it on!
