I would love to see gena showalters alien huntress series made into a movie.  I think she mixes fantasy, sci fi and mythology very well into a powerful series.

i agree that Lords of the Underworld would be a great series to make into a movie, but I think even better would be The Black Dagger Brotherhood By JR Ward.  BDB is my favorite series thus far.

I'm sorry if someone said this already, but The Giver would be an amazing film I think.  It would be really cool to see the color phase in and I'm sure everyone who read this book had quite the visualization of the apple turning red as the two boys tossed it back and forth.  It could be stunning cinematography.  Of course, I want to see it made into a movie because it was a great story as well, but the visual possibilities are especially exciting.

The other book I would love to see visually adapted is Julie of the Wolves (I am also dying to see it on the Nook soon too, but that's another story for another board ).  I think it could be amazing and filming on location would give it the beautiful backdrop it deserves.  Then, adding in wolves would be the tricky part.  Perhaps they could do CGI or superimpose the girl actress into real scenes with wolf packs.  I know there are a lot of half-breed wolf-dogs that could look like real wolves and are tame so maybe that could be a solution too.  However, whatever they did, I think it would be hard to go wrong with this sort of film.  It is a classic story of survival, hope, ingenuity and unusual animal bonding.  Similar to many greats of the past, but very unique in some ways too, this tale would be beautiful on the big screen.

I know how that feels!! There are plenty of books that I keep meaning to read, but over time I start other books and then when I see the booka again, I'm like, oh yeah.  You should really take the time to read it, its awesome!

I too think anita blake would be a great few Movies! Have you read the Merry Gentry Series? It by Laurel K Hamilton,if u haven't read it yet,you must it is awesome and I thought it was a better series than Anita BLAKE!!!!!! Also,if u r into paranormal romance here r a few series...I'm a SERIES ADDIXT!!!....lol Riley Jenson a Guardian novel by Keri Aurthur The Dark Hunter Series bySherrylon Kennyon-Amazing it has like 10 books The Nightwalker Series by Jaquelyn Frank and the series I'm reading now is awesome its the black dagger brotherhood by J.R. After Midnight (book 1) and The Vampire Who Loved Me (book 2) by Teresa Medeiros would make a great period piece vamp movie.  I would pick Lara Adrians Midnight Breed series for a showtime or HBO series. I enjoyed Laras take on how "The Breed" came to be of this earth. I enjoyed J. R. Wards BDB series as much as the rest of the vamp community. However, in Laras Midnight Breed series the writing and the plot are so much better. Its addicting and I'm sure I would tune in to see any similar plot on screen.

I think that a Tv series might be better. It would be way too hard to make even a trilogy out of them all! But if you are a producer imagine knowing that there are so many seasons already thought of for you. And imagine every week getting to see all those lovely men trying to make you happy!

I saw the title to this post and immediately thought, "The Stephanie Plum books!" 

Of course, that was the very first post. I LOVE those books! I can just see grandma Mazer shooting the chicken dinner, the fiascos at the funeral home...

Anyway, then I guess if I have to pick something else, it'd be Dean Koontz's Frankenstein series.

I didn't see it mentioned, although I may have missed the post but I would love to see the Terry Brooks "Magic Kingdom For Sale: Sold" series made into movies or a mini-series.  The books are fantastic.

I'm still waiting on the verdict for Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game to be turned into a movie... One of my all time favorite series so if they do make into a movie it better be phenomenal!

I think that the Rachel Morgan series would make a great HBO or Showtime series. And someone like Robert Rodriguez or Frank Miller should be in charge.  IDK why, that's just what I see......

I don't think a lot of the series mentioned (including Rachel) would make good movies, too much stuff would get cut.
