Re: Welcome to Guilty Pleasures: The Paranormal Pub – Off-Topic Chat Served Up Daily

I will definitely post my thoughts once I have finished the book.  But I must admit that I'm enjoying it so far!

That kind of bad sounds like a great idea......

I have the original model but got so excited when I saw this new one.....I can now read in bed in the dark! No more blinding my self with the led clip on light that devours fancy calculator batteries! No more falling asleep with the lights on! No more toggling between my Nook and iPad! And let me tell you, that iPad hurts when it beams you in the forehead cause you fell asleep while reading. I think it left a permanent mark. Too bad the books that are next up on my list aren't ebooks....

I am jealous. I keep looking at the Nook with glow light. They look so cool.

I totally have dents on my forehead from where my nook (the original) flops down on my face when I fall asleep reading... I thought I was the only one!! :smileysurprised:

I'm avoiding the glow light though- I don't do well with the backlight thing after staring at a computer all day at work... Good to hear you love it though!

I totally understand the dents in the forehead. I also drop it on the floor a lot.

I never read in bed as my hubby usually retires at least an hour before me and I too think I would have trouble with the back light after spending so much time on the puter.

let us know how you like it

I finished the book some time last week, but have been unable to post anything about it until now.  I really liked it.  One of the ways I gauge how much I enjoy a book is by looking at how often during the day I have stolen time from my normal schedule to read.  If I only read a book once or twice during the day, then that is a pretty good indicator of my feelings for the book.  However, if I find myself taking every spare minute of my day to pick up the book, even if it is for just a few minutes at a time, then I know I'm hooked.

With A Blood Seduction, I found myself stealing time whenever I could to read.  There were a number of things about the book that I really enjoyed.  The heroine, Quinn, is very lovable, believable, and she had me cheering for her from the start.  She was a strong character that had a huge heart.  But I will admit that I found myself wishing she would be a little more selfish and invest more time in herself and her abilities.  I also enjoyed the character of Kassius, a werevampire, who had been born a werewolf, and was turned into a vampire after he had been captured by the Romans.  This character seemed to have so much potential, and I wanted more of him in the story.

The character that seemed the most real to me was Arturo.  This fear-feeding vampire who captured and seduced Quinn is unapologetically himself.  While he isn't honest about his ultimate goals and intentions, there is no attempt at trying to appear or behave as something other than the self-serving, sexually charged vampiric reprobate that he is.  As he tells Quinn repeatedly, "I am what I am."

FaeryQueen, I did enjoy this book.  I'm so glad there are people here with great taste that I can trust for book reviews!

Zack...

You know that feeling when you have been gone from your favorite place for a while, and then you walk back in all timid just to find out that they added a dungeon??  Yup, that is what I'm feeling right now.  That lower dungeon bar is just F-ing cool. :smileyhappy:

Glad I'm not the only one that feels the same way. After reading the posts I feel completely lost. Even though it's been a while since I've visited everyone I've missed you all, and am looking forward to meeting all the new to be friends!

If someone could be so kind as to explain the dungeon room I'd appreciate it. It seems a lot have changed since I've been gone.

Glad to be back everyone:smileyhappy:

Can anyone help? I think my fingers got glued to my NOOK and I can't seem to put it down!1! :smileyhappy:-
Although it's a good conversation piece when out in public!!

Well nw the world can be prepared for the honest information about book two in one of the most talked about trilogies to date.

Can't wait to see your blog/review of the novel Paul and I'm sure it'll be on your list for discussion novels in October when it comes out.

Re: Welcome to Guilty Pleasures: The Paranormal Pub – Off-Topic Chat Served Up Daily

I figure a pub like this one should be the place to bring my questions. This crowd seems very tech savvy. I have a new tablet which I really love. But when I try to reply to posts on the boards I don't get the Quote or the Add Product features available. There are probably other features that are not there either.  I have tried different browsers on my tablet.  Any ideas would be appreciated.  Thanks.

I get similar problems on my iPhone. If anyone has any advice, I'd love to hear it!
