I just finished:
Hunter by Skyla Dawn Cameron. (no link here yet)
And was hoping to start Aftermath by Ann Aguirre now, but it hasn't showed up on my doorstep yet.
But I think I'm going to read:
Ada Legend of a Healer next. I think it might be a quick read, so mixing it in.

Heartless (Parasol Protectorate Series #4)
I really love this series. This book really topped the others. Alexia is a strong willed dominant female for her time or any time.
Grave Surprise (Harper Connelly Series #2)
Charlaine Harris has another great series in Harper Connelly. I love the mystery involved in these books.

P.P.S. Does anyone know if 'My Library" in "My B&N' has a maximum book cutoff? I'm currently at 371 books and want to know whether I'll have to start deleting the old ones.
Dalnewt - I know there is a limit to the Reading Now list, I think it was 100....I ended up having to remove everything so I could add more. I have over 600 books in My Library and haven't had any problems adding new ones.
I finished up
Primal Law (Alpha Pack Series #1)
This one was recommended to me on Amazon and looked interesting. Some reviewers compared it to Christine Feehan's Ghostwalker series....the only real comparison I saw was that it revolves around military men, a possible government conspiracy, and each man has some kind of physic gift.
Jaxon Law and his Seal team were attacked by rogue wolf shifters in Afghanistan and were turned themselves. Now, they fight monsters of all kinds as the Alpha Pack. Jax is on the mend after getting injured on a mission that took the lives of some of his team when his lover betrayed them. He and his buddies head to Vegas for some R&R when he finds Kira running for her life. Kira suspects something is going on at work, and steals some tissue samples from a restricted lab to have them checked out by a friend. As she's leaving, she gets discovered and has to make a run for it. Jax comes to the rescue but since Kira witnesses him shifting, she is now a 'guest' of the Alpha Pack. The Pack discovers that Kira's theft may have have something to do with them, and that one of their own could have been part of the experiments.
Tyler lays the groundwork for what should be an interesting series. The book ends with some unanswered questions around what Kira's employers are really up to, who is behind it all, and are the Alpha Pack part of of the experiment. Although the main group of characters are wolf shifters, there is also an exiled Fae prince, a gremlin, a snake shifter, a mage, and a handful of humans at the compound. The one problem I had with the book is Kira. She took everything in stride, which didn't come off as genuine. I really liked some of the supporting characters and the way they interact with each other. Primal Law hinted at some possible couples among the cast. It looks like one of these couples will be the focus of a novella, Black Magic, out in March 2012. The next novel is Savage Awakening out in April.
Next up: I'm a few chapters into the newest Dark Hunter book.

I've past the mid point of
Magic Slays (Kate Daniels Series #5)
Finally, a series that does it right after the heroine hooks up with her guy! The book has great descriptions of a slowly crumbling technological world and a magic-infused new world filled with new sprung forests and strange creatures. The narrative successfully interweaves the personal life of the heroine, (including back-history revelations, an errant ward, romantic interludes and keep responsibilities), with an investigation she pursues largely independent of her shapeshifting Beast Lord mate. That's the key, the heroine still has an independent professional life. Plus, although she might have found the love of her life, she still retains a biting edge and violent nature. Note, the pace has been mostly moderate so far, and the investigative story is entertaining but not completely compelling. But, I've only just past the mid point and will post later when I finish. The investigation concerns the recovery of a kidnapped magic theorist and his mysterious invention that blows through all magical wards as well as the piloting of the truly disgusting, husk-like vampires. It's a very good read so far.

I just finished up
Retribution (Dark-Hunter Series #21)
Kenyon revisits some of her early Dark Hunters in this book. It revolves around Jess 'Sundown' Brady, who is stationed in Las Vegas. So naturally, Sin pops in...there are also appearances by Zarek, Sasha, and Talon. The new characters in this book are all part Native American and Kenyon introduces a whole new pantheon.
I think I'm going to need to break down and reread the whole series to see if I've missed something. This book still has a few Daimons who are ingesting Gallu demons, but for the most part, this novel doesn't seem to tie into the rest. I feel like the new story arc from Fang's book was just left out there....Hopefully it gets all tied back together somehow.
Overall, I liked the book and loved the interactions between Jess and Ren. Ren's book is up next and will be out next August. Also, there is a cool bonus scene at the end around the birth of Ash & Tory's child.
Next up is the new Christine Feehan book, Dark Predator.

It says World Castle Publishing. The author gave me an epub..so maybe. It is for sale here as a paperback and eBook and at that big warehouse.
I'm about 100 pages in. There are only a handful of vamps left in the world and no males.. till David is created. Weres rule the world. This book deals with the origin of vampires and werewolves. A lot of biblical references and rewriting of it. I can tell you the catholic church will want it burned..but I find myself wanting to know more. It is a very unique storyline. I will post my thoughts when I am done.

Just finished
I liked it. It wasn't as good as the first one, but it was still an excellent read. It really picked up towards the middle of the book and finished really strong. I can't wait till the next one.
Back to reading Eye of the Tempest, had to take a break on that one because I wanted to focus on The Rift Walker.
Up Next:
Smokin' Seventeen (Stephanie Plum Series #17)
