Thirsty,

What do you think of the book so far?  I have been waffleing about getting it on and off.  Didn't know it was on sale, and I might get it depending on what your thoughts are.  As a side note, I've been buying so many of my wish list books that seem to be on sale right now, I can't fit anymore on my home pages.  Anyone else have this problem? Not that it's a bad problem to have, but I think I am officially buried under my TBR pile.

Thanks in advance.  :smileyhappy:

Hi! Well I'm only a couple chapters into it so far, but I will definitely post my thoughts once I read a bit more. I had bumped this up on my TBR anyway because I saw a review of someone who had an ARC of the second book, and they said it was brilliant and much better than the first. I do love a good ghost story...

Re: What are you currently reading?

I know this sounds crazy but I've never read Laurell K Hamilton.  My favorite paranormal writers have been Charlaine Harris and JR Ward, so what do you think?  Is her writing close to theirs?

Cara:

Charlaine and LKH are very different writers – Charlaine's sookie novels are light-hearted and a little sexy while LKH's Anita Blake is, at points, hardcore eroticism. Her novels, lately, have had a more noir feel to them – like hard-boiled mystery.

If you're looking for just plain GREAT paranormal fantasy I would suggest Kat Richardson's Greywalker, Kim Harrison's Hollows, and Jaye Wells' Sabina Kane novels....   :smileyhappy:

Well you have to wait until September for this The Demoness of Waking Dreams  that I'm reading right now, which is the second in her brand new paranormal angel and demon series, but you can always get book one

Where Demons Fear to Tread

Stephanie is a fresh new voice in paranormal romance and it's worth listening to.

Re: What are you currently reading?

Right now I'm reading:

Hammered (Iron Druid Chronicles Series #3)

I adore Atticus and Oberon!  After this I'm reading:

Divergent (Divergent Series #1)

or:

One Foot in the Grave (Night Huntress Series #2)

I have all the Night Huntress books, but never got around to reading the first one.  It sat on my shelf for five years!  Now I want to get them all read before

Once Burned (Night Prince Series #1)

is released at the end of the month.

Re: What are you currently reading?

I just started Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush Saga #1)  because I got it on sale here at B&N for $4.99 (not sure if it's still on sale though...). I'm really curious about is since all the reviews have been so mixed! It seems like people either love it or hate, not a lot of in-betweeners...

Anyone here read it yet?

I have never read this, but I keep seeing it at B&N.  The cover calls to me every time I see it.  Be sure to post your thoughts when you are done.

I read this as part of the First Look here at Barnes and Noble. I am sure the link is somewhere under 'Choose a Discussion'. There is a lot of opinions on what everyone thought of the book. I wasn't sure how much I would like the book. But I really did like it. The cover art is great. I have read the first two books. The third is in my pile.

Re: What are you currently reading?

I am about midway through

Green-Eyed Demon (Sabina Kane Series #3)

After I finish I will be taking a little break from Sabina so I can read

Cursed (Alex Verus Series #2)

I loved the first one and I had totally spaced that the second one was coming out.

Kushiel's Chosen (Kushiel's Legacy Series #2)

Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades Trilogy #1)  I REALLY loved the first book in the kushiel series and now I am jumping into the second one.  I also started reading fifty shades of grey and I am hooked.  I know it got a lot of controversial feedback, but I don't see anything wrong with the book.  You have issues with books like this, don't read them because there are plenty of other people in the world that do.

Thanks for the warm welcome and I am glad that no one judges.  I read a lot of different types of books and as long as the story and characters are compelling and not 2 dimential, I usually really like them.

You know, I probably should read Fifty Shades of Grey just for the experience, good or bad....
