Re: What are you currently reading?

Gahhh!  Well now I've done it.  I was putting it off 'cause I just didn't want it to end, but I finally bit the bullet and read Blue Blooded Vamp.  I lloved it, but am so sad that it is over.  :smileysad:

Blue-Blooded Vamp (Sabina Kane Series #5)

Up Next, the Night Huntress Series by Jeaniene Frost....

Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress Series #1)

And After that the Charley Davidson Series...

First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson Series #1)

BTW, has anyone heard if there has been any further delevopments on the Hollows by Kim Harrison coming to TV?  She mentioned it at her book signing, and said that she would update us on her website sometime this summer, but I still haven't heard/seen anything.  If anyone else knows something, I would love to hear about it. Re: What are you currently reading?

Cursed was great. I look forward to the next book in September called Taken (due out in August 2012). This is a excellent series to read. Cursed is an urban fantasy with great characters.

I also read Sweet Sliver Blues which was published in 2007 as a fantasy noir. Garrett is a private investigator in the fantasy world. It was good and I think I will put another one in my list.

For fun I read Explosive Eighteen. Stephanie Plum is a hilarious character.

Last I heard, they put the kabosh on the series- they wanted to change too much- no Jenks, Kisten would be a witch dating Ivy, and Trent as a Rachel stalker. I can't remember where I first heard it, but I just got these specifics from Your Urban Fantasy website... (give credit where credit is due, and all)

Um, I think that I may have a few new dents in my nook from this series... Nora should go down in history as the most annoying character ever written. Are we supposed to like her? Because I'm pretty sure I wish she'd just go away. I have to admit that I did actually finish Silence, but I'm not sure what the point of the 4th book will be? Think I'll skip it... (Although I admitedly did keep reading because of Patch...)

This was on Kim's website in late May...

CW passes on Hollows for 2012-2013 season

Happy Memorial day!  Today is the day I traditionally wear Guy’s Dad’s old shirt in memory of him and all who served during war time.  The stuff you do so we can do what we do.  Thank you.

Also, I finally got notice Friday that CW has passed on moving forward on the Hollows for the 2012-2013 season.  The official word is that they will be making decisions in the next two weeks as what might happen to the projects they passed on, and I’m assuming that means they will be deciding whether to stick it on a back burner or simply toss it out the backdoor. I’ve not seen a pilot script, so I’ve no idea how far it got before it was dropped.  To be honest, I’m not looking for them to do anything with it in the time they have available before the rights revert back to me.

Re: What are you currently reading?

I have been extremely busy this month, so reading was kind of on the backburner, but I am getting back in the thick of things.  I just finished

Cursed (Alex Verus Series #2)  .

It was awesome.  I love Alex.  I think this was better than the first.  The character development was great.  It was fast paced and it left me anticipating the next book which comes out next month.  Sweet.

I am now going to start on

Chasing Magic (Downside Ghosts Series #5) .

I love this series.  If you haven't read these, do yourself a favor and pick them up.  Also, head to the blog and read Paul's amazing review.  If that doesn't show you what you have been missing and make you rush out to buy them, I don't know what will.  After I finish this, I am planning on tackling

Grave Memory (Alex Craft Series #3)  .

I am really excited to dive back into this series.  Alex is a great heroine, and I think Price has created some  unique twists to set the series apart from similar urban fantasy books.

Well this just makes me sad (and I totally missed that post on her site).  Although if they were changing it up as much as indicated, I'm not sure I would have watched it. I think it would have frustrated me too much and I would have just muttered to myself "they got it wrong, they got it wrong..." as I watched.  I guess it just saves me the cost of cable.  :smileyhappy:

The Twelve (Passage Trilogy Series #2)

loved the read, not sure about the title and i hope we don't have to wait two years for the conclusion although it did have a nice catch up in the front

All I can say is that this book is one of the most anticipated reads I've ever had the experience of waiting (ie: being tortured) years for!!!

Just finished the Witch is back by H.P. Mallory, and as always an awesome book. My main vamp Sinjin took center stage. Her books are always a good bet.

So it was better than Witchful Thinking? Because as much as I love H.P. Mallory and her 2 series, Witchful Thinking had me "rethinking" the whole thing... it was 90% rehash of the last 2 books with maybe 10% new story. But if The Witch Is Back (Jolie Wilkins Series #4)  is "fresh", I'm on it!!

And love me some Sinjin...

Re: What are you currently reading?

I've finally caved to peer pressure and have started The Golden Lily (Bloodlines Series #2). And so far so good!! Really well written YA series! (Although I'm nervous about the ending from what I've heard so far... especially after I got slugged by the end of Tempest's Fury....)

wow...as much as I would have liked a Hollows tv show...no Jenks??? Kisten as a witch???? it would have bombed with the people who loved the books.

Re: What are you currently reading?

The Passage was interesting, but I didn't like that they jumped so many years. Too much story potential undeveloped. I have been keeping an eye out for The Twelve.

OMG, no way...why base a show on a book series if they are going to completely change everything???  That would just be...sad.

Fire Kissed  I started this book today and I REALLY love it.  I was hooked from the prologue, and really felt for the character, Kaye Brand from the beginning.  Even the prologue is gripping. I like the twist of angels against mages, something that I haven't really seen before.  I recommend this book to anyone and I'm hoping she has more.

Actually this is book #4..  :-)  First one is Shadow Bound, then Shadow Fall, Shadowman, then Fire Kissed.  There is actually also a 2.5 Shadow Touch and a 3.5 Shadow Play, but they could be ebooks.

Happy reading!

I also read this, and I'm enjoying the Alex Craft series a lot!
