Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Re: What would YOU like?

Perhaps. But it's also alot of responsibility.
I mean, Spiderman is all trying to get it on with MJ when his Spidey-sense goes off and he has to cut and run to save the day.
Do superheroes really ever get a day off?

Yeah, and wouldn't it have really hurt when he landed, barefoot?

Well, I'd want to be able to do good with my power so I'd want some sort of physic abilities so I could foresee danger and be able to get to the problem in time to prevent it. But I'd want super strength too, gotta have that in case I'd get there and need to rip into some metal or bust into a house or something. Maybe I need a team if I can only have one power. Anybody want to join my team? I need a physic/mind reader type, since I'd probably go for the super strength. Someone that could fly to help with those duties. Anybody got underwater breathing ablities? Oh, and I'll need somebody to heal, just in case we don't figure things out in time. Does a super metabolism comes with enhanced ablities, I mean the energy has to come from somewhere, right?

Well, if you took the psychic powers I could get you to the place on time with my super speed!:smileywink:

Scraggles,

Some of the book clubs run for a month - usually those with author participation. We really want them to get busy writing, and if we keep them playing online too much, they'll never get anything done! The board will still be here, and you can still talk, even though it will be "officially" over. Paul Allen is going to be moderating an Urban Fantasy board that will begin just after Labor Day, and I think you'll really enjoy that forum.

Hope this helps,

Yeah, that landing was a rough one. He slid like 40 feet on dirt and gravel before he stopped. It looked very cool though. Now how did he pay for the coffee and the shirt? Did Hiro cover it?

Oka, so that's what you get a girl with good cleavage of holding. That way she can hold all her stuff as well as yours. Of course, then you'd have to take her with you if you ever ran off somewhere in the middle of the night, because she'd have all your stuff in her cleavage.

... Oka, so that idea doesn't work so well.

Oka, so here's what you do. Lose a bunch of weight, get a great bod, and then get implants so you can have your own cleavage of holding. ::grin::

Re: What would YOU like?

Screw that.. I'd never get any worked done. 'Sides I like the more natural feel of what I have now..I'm not a big fan of implants except when they're used for reconstruction.

Re: What would YOU like?

Natural is best I agree... but sadly you chaps seldom seem to appreciated the "down side" if I can put it that way... As an all natural girl who sadly is now decidedly middle aged but very "amply" proportioned indeed in that department one paranormal ability I would like is the ability for the relevant bits of me to be able to defy gravity especially when I'm at the gym or out jogging! It's hell finding a bra that can withstand even a modest amount of exercise...

A bit more seriously though I think the ability to converse telepathically with close friends would be pretty cool as would the ability to go invisible at times...

Great now you've done it. I've gotan image of about a dozen "amply" proportioned women jogging in my head. I am getting dizzy....

No Vampyre... don't worry actually we've all been specially gifted with paranormal invisibility to save your blushes... :smileyvery-happy:

Re: What would YOU like?

The ability to read minds was the first one that popped into my head, but that would be a little frightening at times, I think. The human mind can be a scary place...
So I think my paranormal ability would be to have infinite knowledge of all the universe's workings.
Nope. Never mind. Takes the mystery out of life.
I don't know; this one's tough. For every positive aspect of an ability, I can think of a negative aspect to having that ability. I suppose that if I HAD to choose one, it would be to literally see the color of people's auras. That would be cool. :smileyhappy:
Well, I hope this board stays alive after it's officially over. I'm sure it will; it seems like there are a lot of dedicated people here. :smileyhappy:

Re: What would YOU like?

I think I'd like to be able to use "compulsion" on people (for good of course!) and then wipe their memories of it. I could do good, change people's lives, fix things, and get rich probably.
