Mike -the HTML string *is* the badge. You could paste that as a link if you want, and the image would come up.  Wouldn't help much cause it doesn't link to your book, but the badge is located at

http://img1.imagesbn.com/pimages/pubit/resources/pubit_badge.jpg

I don't know what happens if you paste the full html mentioned on this thread into facebook, but I suspect it wouldn't work (they'd be opening themselves to some security risk possibly if they allowed it to execute as html). But I don't know FB very well, I could be wrog.

Something is amiss. Badge instructions don't work.  I tried it in 4 blogs plus an email.

You need to try again to make it work like you said.

Wow, thanks EGTalbot!!! I've tried to keep up with all of the changes and advances of the internet, but I admit that HTML, coding, etc., is/are not my strength. Your fix worked like a charm and it was EASY!

We tried to add the badge as per instructins above and the link died. so, we copied the image onto our clipboard, opened ( in our case, we use FrontPage) our editor, pasted onto the main page with a note and saved,published and there we are http://www.addisongastbooks.com Caveman tactics, I'll admit but,.....it worked.

I basically did the same thing you have described here and then ran across your suggestion afterwards.  What I did differently was used the personalized pubit badge that uses an image of your book on it (found on another thread here) and substitued the search for my name as you described.  I used the book that came up first on my list as the one to link to (that way, if someone was searching for that book to buy, it would bring up all of my books, but that one would be at the top of the list.)

This way, it not only brings up my PubIt books, but my paperbacks as well.

Thank you!  It worked great on FB.  Just cut and paste (with your own number) and FB just like magic pulls it up and opens a little box for your words to be added.  I found that I needed to erase the code so as not to confuse anybody.

Question - Is there a quick thing to add to email signature?  All I can think of is putting in the url...

When the badge is clicked does it open the Barnes & Noble site within the same Window (browser tab)  or does it cause a new window to open?

PAUL my friend I found out about the bubit badge at my titles page, then seen here, but when I add the link to the blog that I am building it just says pubit badge and when you push on the words it take me to cannot display page with blank page...Help Gwen@cnextplus.com
