link problems

I set up links in my book for each chapter.  These links work fine.  Then I put a link for each chapter at the end of each chapter, so readers can jump around rather than go back to the TOC to get to another chapter.  However, these links only work forward.  If I am at the end of chapter 4, I can select chaper 5 or later to go to.  But if I want to go to chapter 2, that link does not work.  Any idea why this might be so?

Thanks

Re: link problems

Errmmmm, why would a reader need to go to the TOC to move from ch 4 to ch 5? They just turn the page and start reading. On the nook/kindle, the pages move fluidly, they dont stop at the end of the chapters making the reader go to the TOC to get to the next chapter...its like reading a real book.

I guess I'm a little lost as to why you think you need to create links for your chapters.

Re: link problems

The book I am publishing is more of a reference book.  Readers may want to skip around for research purposes.  After reading the first 5 chapters, they may want to go tho chapter 3 or chapter 8.  The way it works now, they can go forward to chapter 8, but not back to chapter 3.  This is just an added convenience for the reader, but it doesn't work, and I can't figure out why.

Thanks
