This article describes a case of political asylum being granted to the U.S. to permit continuing to home school this family's children.
Home schooling always makes me a little queasy. I understand, if don't condone, the desire to shelter their children from ideas they find objectionable. But the social cost seem enormous. So much of going to school with a large group of children is learning how to act in groups, how to deal with adversity, and how to make your place in society. It feels like all that is missing when a child is home schooled.
