I am returning a nook with a cracked button. I was wondering if I have to return the power cord and adapter as well. I didn't have to return the charger when I returned a defective cell phone once, so I didn't know if you have to with nook or not. By the way, I did try to call customer service, but can't get through right now. I will try again later if I need to, but I wanted to hear from people on the boards in the mean time.Thanks.

If you are taking in to a store for an exchange they will want the cord and original box as well for shipping it back. If you are doing a mail I'm not sure on that one....

Thanks Nevermore1, I'm doing it throught the mail. When I got my RMA number from the customer service rep a couple of days ago, she didn't mention anything about the power cord. I just thought about it today when I was packing up the old nook to go back.

Guess if it depends on what they sent you?
If they sent me a new unopened box. Then I would send everything I had of old unit. If they just sent me the nook and nothing else. Then would send just that.

I would just pack it along. I exchanged in store and they insisted I turn in the cord as well. I am assuming even by mail they would want the charger. So I would just turn it in to be of the safe side.

I returned mine through the mail, and they never told me I needed to send the cord. But since I received a new Nook and a new power cord, I figured that I didn't really need the old one and sent it back.

Thanks everyone, I will try to get an official answer from B&N on this. I am still on hold at the moment It would be great if I don't have to return it because an extra cord sure would be nice!
Well, nvm on that. They answered while I was typing, and they do in fact require you to return the cord as well since a new one comes with the nook when you exchange.
