how cool lindor to get to meet him and get a signed copy. I am not an author chaser (not saying you are, you lucked into it at work lol) but i would love to get a signed copy from him on this one, I am just not in a town where he is going to be darn it! Its a great book!

The braille edition of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was ready
the same day as the print edition. This is a BIG DEAL. It's almost unheard of to have the braille edition available at the same time as the print edition.

For some trivia regarding the braille edition: National Braille Press's
version of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will run approximately
1,100 braille pages; be packaged in ten volumes standing more than a
foot high; occupy 15 inches of shelf space; and weigh approximately 12
pounds. To transcribe, proof, emboss, collate, and ship the braille
edition will take approximately three weeks.
Each book costs approximately $63 to produce, but National Braille Press
sells the book at a comparative price to the print edition.

WOW, that is totally amazing! How wonderful it is out at the same time and the kids can talk about it together before they hear about it all. Never thought about the size of or cost of a braille book either. Thank you so much for sharing. I want to do some more checking into books for the blind here. Very interesting info

That is amazing! It's great to hear that the timing and the cost are comparable to the print edition. I loved the book and everyone should get the chance to enjoy all books. I'll have to pass along the very interesting information you posted.
