Love Scottish Historical Novels-Need help finding some new series, authors and books in this genre

Hello,

One of my favorite romantic book to read is Scottish Historical novels. I have read, Beatrice Small, Julie Garwood(my favorite) and Amanda Scott.  I like the series format but I can not seem to find any new ones. Can anyone recommend any good series or even a still only book that is set in Scotland?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Definitely start with Diana Gabaldon. Here are her books: Outlander   Dragonfly in Amber Voyager   Drums of Autumn   The Fiery Cross   A Breath of Snow and Ashes. Also try the McClairen's Isle books by Connie Brockway: McClairen's Isle   The McClairen's Isle   Reckless One  You could also try Monica McCarty, Sue-Ellen Welfonder, Hannah Howell, there are so many others and I'm sure other posters will jump in!

Yes, I agree with Melanie. Definitely read Diana Gabladon Outlander series. You will love them.

Also good is Karen Hawkins, Nora Roberts, Karen Moning, Karen Ramsey, Lois Greiman and Betrice Small.

Hi Smore, take it from someone who loves a man in a kilt there are some very good suggestions here. I would also add Sandy Blair to the list.

I think someone else has already mentioned Karen Marie Moning, but I wanted to put my 2 cents in :smileyhappy:.  I love Karen Marie Moning's "Highlander" series.  They're probably considered "paranormal" romance because there's a some supernatural elements in each book, but they're excellent romance novels.  Her male characters are always big, possessive and smokin' hot :smileywink:.

Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander Series #1)

To Tame a Highland Warrior (Highlander Series #2)  The Highlander's Touch (Highlander Series #3)  Kiss of the Highlander (Highlander Series #4)  The Dark Highlander (Highlander Series #5)  The Immortal Highlander (Highlander Series #6)  Spell of the Highlander (Highlander Series #7)

Hello,

Thanks everyone for some good suggestions.  I am going to the bookstore this weekend and I am going to look for some of the books everyone suggested I read.  I will get back to everyone with my picks and how I like them.

Thanks again!

Connie Mason has some great Scottish novels!! Monica McCarty also has some amazing Scottish novels out there! I've read her MacLeods of Skye trilogy.

I would look at books by Hannah Howell. She is great and has many Scottish historical romance books. One of my favorites is Highland Warrior.
