Paris in Love is a memoir of the year Eloisa spent in France, told in punchy, short observations that combine to form a beautiful impression of life in the City of Light.
I have been to Paris, decades ago, and reading this filled me with a wistful longing for a wandering path among cafes, museums, and churches. Though this is definitely not a romance novel, it did make me feel open to romance - for what city is more conducive to matters of the heart.
Has anybody here read this? And what I want to know is: what are your favorite romantic cities?

Eloisa James is not only the creator of one of my all-time favorite heroes (the Duke of Villiers) but is also kind of my heroine. She's a Shakespeare professor who writes romance novels - terrific ones at that - has a family and Italian husband, and the means to take a year off and wander the streets of Paris.

I have this book and will read it very soon. My favorite romantic cities? Florence, Paris, and the British countryside. And Hawaii.

Hmm, I'm not a traveler and the only romantic place that my hubby and I have gone is Cancun and it was lovely so I'll choose there.

Gosh, those are all great places! We've been to Ireland, and that was pretty and romantic in its way, and San Franscisco seemed like a good place to be in love. Maybe I just like wandering a city while holding hands? Any city would do? ![]()
